New ground
« on: January 12, 2011, 04:27:26 PM »
There's an article in today's Target saying that Mr Newton has targeted some potential sites for a new ground and has held preliminary planning talks about his preferred site. Chestnuts have taken an option on land in Tattershall road, and the inference is that building houses there would part fund the new ground. He is hoping to take advantage of confusion in the plannings laws being prposed by the coalition government. He also says that Town would be protected. Ground share?

Did someone find a discarded fag packet in a spring clean?

So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

I think if any ground share at the mo is been considered i think it be town to york street for a few years while there site is developed. then a seconed site will be built for us to move to out of the surpluse funds at a guess. The only intresting point will the second site be 1 site or 2 sites

york street cost is 6.6 million due to its location, i seem to think nantwich got land and a respectible stadium for less than that so spending that on land would just be a complete waist

Most people dont want to move and in truth i dont, but everyone as to wake up to reality that if we want to go farward as a club we cant stay there

don't really wanna move but long-term its going to have to happen

i do hope we have enough funds to have a ground with 4 rooofs or atleast 3 then build a 4th when £ lets us, and we build a stand which like townend has great acoustics which will let us stand in there every game even for big games

not 1 of these ' we must have the townend type' but i do like standing in there

We still cannot play at the PRSA, due the lottery funding. I can't see us being in a position to pay that back...
I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.

nantwich's ground was a total rip-off. 3.75million for that is a joke. if its 6.6 for york street with the car park, then over a 100 appartments could be built on the car park to fund the loan on the purchase. obviously we do not know the ins and outs of he financies involved but with the right investment getting back york street might not be such a tuff deal. new stadiums tend to be like morgues these days and could have a neggative affect on the club.
