He (Suarez) could be the new Matt Carmichael ...
I also note that Newsham and Clarke don' t appear to have scored from open - play yet..

Just got in - the goal was coming. Suarez missed an easy chance just after coming on, then hit the post with a cracking volley and third time lucky, nodded past the keeper.

Bring on Lincoln United...

just got back from the game must say great signing evans looked vey composed and assured barring one blip near the end.the game itself was very poor first half nobody looked very good at all for either side all the hype about kirk i was expecting something special but was very dissapointed.after a half time roasting boston looked a lot better and when he finally took off the dissapointing duo of kirk and clarke the team finally looked like scoring and big bad betty suarez finally scored the winner after looking more dangerous in 25mins than clarke did the whole game.as for kirk you can see he is very skillfull indeed when he gets the ball  but when he doesnt have it he was just stood moaning and flapping his arms all 5foot 6ins of him. sorry if people dont agree with me but im just saying it how i saw it tonight and yes i know its still pre season but just disappointed by overall performance i suppose. special mention to young chris baker who made his debut tonight another promising youth player through the ranks.

A decent performance against a well-organised Brigg Town.
Although goal chances were limited for both sides, the match was very competitive. This will be a good platform for United to progress playing together.
New Goalkeeper signing, Tom Evans was rarely threatened. His experience will provide stiff competition for Aaron Butcher.
The back four worked well together. Tonights decent performance from young Nick Jackson should provide him with a new contract. Canoville and Parker linked well together in the centre of defence whilst Chris Wood put his best performance in so far this pre-season.
Tyrone Kirk looked very useful on the wing although he was ball greedy on occasions. His pace and trickery will cause problems for any defence.
Trialist Matt Kennedy looked decent enough to  be shown a contract.
Mark Camm as usual played well in a holding role whilst Danny Sleath looked promising.
The two front men of Newsham and Clarke still need some more games under their belt playing together. But the star of the show was  super-sub Suarez who scored the winner and made it tough for the home defence with his flick ons and defensive headers late on. Overall - promising but not getting carried away yet ! And well done to the 100 or so United fans who made the journey North !
