Chances for Tuesday
« on: December 27, 2010, 08:47:12 AM »
Is there any?

Ground still frozen solid.

I can't remember such a long time without a game in the middle of the season......best bet might be NYD but I'm not holding my breath.

Comments currently coming out of the club appear to put the game in doubt ...

http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/nonleaguenews/Highly-rated-keeper-McKeown-way-York-Street/article-3040718-detail/article.html

... This interview must have taken place on Boxing Day at the very latest, so hopefully with a thaw there may still be a slim chance.

At this time last year we'd played 22 of our eventual 38 League fixtures, and had therefore completed 58% of the League campaign. This time around the equivalent figures are 16 out of 40, i.e. only 40%. Other clubs in a similar or worse position, with Gloucester for example having only completed 13 league fixtures. If the cold snap and series of postponements continue, is there an argument for Blue Square extending the end of the season?

I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.

Real shame as this would have been a decent attendance being Xmas time and the club had already printed programmes etc however safety has to come first

As somebody who works on the land i think the calling off this game should have been left till morning, with the top of my garden already starting to soften and rain expected tonight and acu temps giving a plus temp for a change there was a chance that a thaw could have continued throu the night.

No chance!

Been on the ground today and its rock hard, the Spayne Rd side and the goal mouth's are covered but the rest of the pitch is frozen hard.

When's the next game planned, next Monday?

Same here this side town, with the rain tonight may have just broke it up.

Saturday - New Years Day. Gotta be more confident as frost will be less harsh this week.
