Player sponsorship
« on: July 23, 2009, 11:15:26 AM »
Are we going to sponsor a player again this season, like impstalk did last?

Is this your shout Ken?

If we are I'll chuck a few quid in.

It was an impsTALK thing, so it should be Pete & Adam organising it again.

I'll bung in a few quid as well again if they pull their finger out!

Have they sorted out who got last year's shirt yet?!

Just spoke to Craig and he said another player sponsorship would be very much appreciated.

He suggested making payment via http://www.supportthepilgrims.com/ using paypal.

Paypal payments are to craig.singleton@bufc.co.uk

He will then allocate us a player when we have donated enough money. About £200 is what we need I think.

At the end of the season Pete, Adam or Ken can deceide what they want to do with the kit.

Still haven't got the shirt - haven't been back to Boston for ages. Adam was back a few weeks ago but Craig never got back to me about whether he'd be able to pick it up.

Once we've got it, I'll have Duncan draw a name out.

impsTALK will likely not be back in action any time soon - long story - so someone else will have to sort this.

This should be quite simple then. We donate what we can afford via paypal to the club as mentioned above. When Craig has £200ish he will allocate us a player to be sponsored by "pilgrims Patter". If we don't raise enough Craig will no doubt find something else to attach our name too.

Just a way of getting involved with club sponsorship for a nominal fee.

What can go wrong ::)

Looks good. It's £175 + VAT to sponsor a player for the season, so that's just over £200. I'll start the fund off with a £50 donation later, so that's £150 to raise amongst the rest of you.

Last year Pete pledged to put the names of everyone who donated £10 or more into a hat from which would be drawn the lucky person to get the sponsored shirt at the end of the season. So we'll do the same again this season.

I'm not sure how Craig will distinguish Pilgrims' Patter Player Sponsorship donations from normal donations to the Save the Pilgrims fund. Suggestions anyone?!

I was expecting to be able to send a message with the paypal payment but you cannot. Maybe after making a donation we come on this thread and confirm, I don't see any need to say how much just confirm your in. Or you could follow the donation with a PM to Ken or an email to craig.singleton@bufc.co.uk

I dont think the "save the pilgrims" fund is that busy that Craig will lose track of were all the money is coming from.

Well I'm in.

Like I said "what can go wrong" ::)

Craig has allocated us MATT KENNEDY as the unlucky player to be blessed with our sponsorship for season 2009/2010.

With Ken's pledge and other donations we allready have enough for home kit sponsorship. We still need a little more to secure both home and away kit.

Feel free to contact Craig direct if you don't have access to paypal.

Matt now has my support too. Do we have enough money yet?

Just realised we may have a problem with this. If all the players are expected to be fitter, stronger, leaner, faster etc. One of us might end up owning a football shirt we'll never fit in.

Hi All,

QWERTY has asked me to post an update...

Many thanks for the donations received so far, currently totaling £115 for the sponsorship of MATT KENNEDY's home and away shirts.

The total required is £201.25 - so a good start made already.
