What's this all about?

On a serious note, has Charley Sanders left us?

They also signed Lee Beeson from us a couple of weeks ago. They even paid a transfer fee for him!!!  :o

If you read our forum I think the Worksop fans would have got together and paid Spalding to take him off our hands  ;)

Another ex Boston player who has left us recently is Chris Wood. Unlike Beeson, Woody was very much a fans favourite, but not one that has ever really been in the manager's plans since Simon Clark took over last season. As far as I know he hasn't got a new club, just playing local football.

Beeson wasn't a bad player at all, but to go from worksop to spalding suggests one thing 'loads a money!!'

no ambition players like that and as a fan no time for players like that

Thing is Beeson is unlikely to ever play in the FL so he might as well try and make some decent money from football. Its not as if he had a choice between Grimsby and Spalding

This is getting silly. They've now signed Tyrone Kirk but are using a picture of Xavi.....

I watched Spalding win 2-1 away at Quorn last night. Spalding had a full-back pairing of Lee Canoville and Nick Jackson (making his debut for the club) and a strike pairing of Dan Cotton and Gary King. They then introduced Lee Beeson, Tony Battersby and Chris Hall as substitutes, leaving Danny Steadman as an unusued sub. Tyrone Kirk (who had started the season at Quorn) didn't make the Spalding squad. Quorn meanwhile included Joe French, who started the season at Boston and has ended up at Quorn via Stamford and then Rugby Town.

Spalding forced a corner in the first half from which Quorn took the lead. Canoville had gone forward for the set piece but a long clearance saw Quorn breaking down Spalding's right hand side and Canoville didn't have the pace to recover the position. The cross came in and Quorn scored with most of Spalding's defence still upfield. Dan Cotton, playing a more central role than he used to at Boston, equalised before half time. It was a bit of a strange goal which crept in at the goalkeeper's near post - most of the ground thought it had hit the side netting until the keeper fished the ball out of the net. (Good job Michael Hortin wasn't commentating). Spalding then won the match with a late goal from Gary King.

During the game King was spoken to by the referee for dissent, and was still arguing at the end, leading to him getting a yellow card after the game had actually ended. I don't understand why he was still protesting at that point as his side had actually won the game!

Good game overall. Better than watching Barcelona!
