Some more sad news
« on: August 11, 2010, 11:20:06 AM »
Exeter City have announced that striker Adam Stansfield has died of cancer at the age of 31.
Stansfield was diagnosed with bowel cancer following a series of tests for an abdominal complaint in April, after being admitted to hospital in March.
The former Yeovil and Hereford player scored seven goals in 19 appearances for Exeter last season.
The League One side made a statement on its website after a 3-2 home Carling Cup defeat by Ipswich on Tuesday.
"It is with great sadness that Exeter City Football Club have to confirm the news that Adam Stansfield passed away this evening,"

I had been following his fight since Geoff Stelling highlighted it on Soccer Special on Sky . Geoff always said Sister Lisa was proud after he scored jokingly .

Sad to see anyone die so young , can only hope his struggle again highlights the disease in men
