Where will Boston finish in the Conf North?
« on: August 05, 2010, 10:40:15 AM »
Where do you think we will finish this season?

I'm going for fourth. Always hard to predict pre season but we have a good squad (certainly better than the one that finished tenth under Tommy Taylor) and are better organised on and off the pitch.

i had £20 on at 16/1 to win last time and obviously marine put a stop to that- same odds this time and i really think that we will be there or thereabouts. Squad have  had time to gel, they are confident and managers are eager for success and so no reason why we shouldnt be challenging for a play off

I'd be happy with a playoff spot so I'm going with 5th
My money is on Alfreton to win the league

In it to win it, we'll have a slow start and then push into the top 1/3 later on.

You've gotta look at the playoffs as a bench mark and go from there.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

any thing outside the top ten would be disappointing, play offs would be awesome,as and around there for me.got to admit though if we did go bonkers and got another promotion i cant help thinking it would maybe be a step to far to quick

Naa go for it and worry about the next level if it happens  ...ambition and desire no point in aiming to come second

If we do get promoted again, big IF, then we will probably keep our current squad together, a mid-table finish this year and we will probably see a remarkably different team this time next year.

We've definitely got the squad to make a real fist of it this year, as i reckon 10 of the teams are just also rans, unibond quality teams. There's only a handful of quality teams, Alfreton, Telford, Eastwood will all be up there in the mix.

Play-offs will be my guess, Telford or Alfreton for the title.

If we haven't pissed this shit excuse of a league by Xmas I expect a full investigation and people loosing their limbs. On a more serious note, I think we certainly have the potential to be in the play offs. If we finish below half way, I think we all know that we'd be underachieving.

Reckon we'll be top 8, although wouldn't be dissatisfied with anything in the top half and contract extensions for Scott and Hurst. From 2012 onwards I'd be expecting us to lay siege to the automatic and play-off spots until we get into the BSP though.

I reckon after a steady start and maybe a sticky patch along the way were we don't know what to expect.

i think if were within 9-10 points of play-offs at xmas we could make a push for play-offs as last year we went on that massive run of only 2 defeats after xams so maybe we might do the same this year

obviously if were closer than 9ish to the play-offs by xmas i'll be a happy boy
