Thanks to everyone who took part on Friday, I think it was a great day? Here is Craig's report from the O/S
Brackenbury’s Boys lifted the Boston United 2010 AM-AM Golf Tournament title on Friday.
The team consisting of Matt Brackenbury, Richard Brackenbury, Jamie Cox and Colin Trestrail scooped the coveted Thurlby Motors-sponsored title — one point ahead of second-placed Canwick Golf Club.
Brackenbury’s Boys collected four United season tickets for 2010-2011, while other prizes on offer included De Vere Dunston Hall ‘Sunday Driver’ packages, Pro V1 golf balls and various golfing accessories.
The golf tournament saw 115 players representing 29 teams taking part at Boston Golf Club, with ‘countback’ required to separate Seymour & Castle, Harry’s Gang and Lincs Flow Screed in third, fourth and fifth respectively.
The four-ball stableford competition, with two balls counting on each hole barring the last (where all four counted) was kindly sponsored by Butterwick, Alford and Louth-based Thurlby Motors, who were on hand to exhibit a number of Vauxhall cars throughout the day.
Former Pilgrim Chris Withe captained Withey’s Wonders, while legendary foursome Paul Bastock, Gerry Stewart, Dave Adamson and Freddie Taylor formed United Legends.
T&B Containers 1 and 2
New main shirt sponsors T&B Containers entered two teams into the event — with all eight players and team manager Tim Curtis resplendent in distinctive pink shirts!
