Just arrived home after spending all day at the Heckington Show to see what at first appeared to be stars moving across the sky over Frampton.  On reflection they looked like a "swarm" of microlight planes moving slowly across the sky.  They were moving in ones, twos and threes and spread out.  It took about ten minutes for them to move out of eyesight from the south to north of the Frampton area. I was too far away to hear any noise due to the fact I was watching them Kirton. Did anyone else see anything or know what they were??

Probably just a formation of RAF planes at altitude?

There must have been nearly 100 of them so doubt they were RAF planes and they weren't in formation.

I haven't drunk anything alcoholic tonight, but on reflection my initial estimation was perhaps on the high side - maybe about 50.  But doubt they were RAF planes.  Will have to check the video footage I took.

Chinese party lantern launched by partygoers? They're very impessive, and there's always the chance you can use them to set fire to someone's property miles away!

Or maybe they were stars, looking for a stable over Crawley way...

Having read the content of the above website - the orange ufo's are exactly what we saw last night from Kirton.
I have video footage but missed the bulk of the ufo's but what I did film looks to be the same as shown in the photographs in the above story.

When I took the dogs out around 1 am there was a single one passed over Kingsway in Boston and disapeared in the direction of Fishtoff.
There was absolutely no noise and the light appeared the colour of flame, an incandessant orangy yellow.
Chinese lantern seems the most likely explaination.

Early this year some farmers were pointing out that the Chinese lanterns were dangerous to their livestock because once burned out the metal rings of the frames fell to the ground and the animals would chew on them and bits of wire would tear at their guts. A reasonable complaint I think. I did notice that to combat that danger you can now purchase 100% biodegradable lanterns. I don't work for Springfields Garden centre so I am not on commission but that is where I saw them for sale at the weekend.
