Just noticed Chalker.com is saying the last game of the season @ Hyde has been brought forward a day. I didn't know if you were aware of the changes at Ewen Fields this summer.......

Apparently the game has been brought forward because of a request from Greater Manchester Police, due to the fact that both Stalybridge and Hyde were due to be at home on the same date.

If Manchester United and Manchester City were at home on the same day, I could understand the police requesting a date change; to a certain extent the same would apply to Bury and Rochdale. But Hyde and Stalybridge? I reckon the combined attendance will only be around 1,500 so something doesn't quite add up.

When the match does come round, it'll be interesting to see how many police are actually on duty in and around the stadium. My guess is not many.

  • I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request.

Well there goes the Madchester weekender idea,

So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Last time we were in the BSN we played Hyde on a Sunday afternoon, I think for the same reason...
