Benefits of being promoted
« on: June 29, 2010, 12:28:47 PM »
See how many benefits we can think of for being back in Blue Square North, I'll start:

1) We're back on Football Manager
2) Easier to get scores from other matches
3) We join the FA Cup and FA Trophy at a later stage
4) Larger attendances (including more than 5 away fans for most games)
5) Promotion carries a bigger reward

Can start to use blue signs to get to away days rather than little White ones.

Can't beat a bit of blue

So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Can you be certain about that? Ilkeston's average attendance dropped from 565 to 399 and Eastwood's from 586 to 521 after getting promoted.

Don't forget in the Evo-stik next season will be FCUM (average attendance last season higher than all Conference North clubs) and Halifax (who had a higher average attendance than Boston, and only Telford in the Conference north had a higher attendance).

Apart from Telford who averaged 1573 the next highest was Eastwood with 521 (I've excluded Southport & Fleetwood as they were promoted hence you will not be playing them)

Anyway here's an advantage: You don't have to visit your favourite ground in the Evo-Stik  ;)

EDIT  - I didn't mean Frickley  ;D

1. When making a comment on the SkySports website, you can now select "Boston United " as the team you support.

2. We will probably never play Retford again.

We will get larger attendances... if we stay in contention for the Play Offs for most of the season. If we are comfortably mid-table, the lack of excitement will see gates drop off..
I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.

Come on, be fair! That's an old picture pre-ground improvements. The stand is twice as big, big bus shelter behind the goal, plus more porta cabins   ;)

At least they've got a ground  :'(

True, and if Gainsborough have a good season as well they may be even be able to fill a minibus for Boxing Day.

No, pointing out the fact we have go to an athletics track next year, and to a team we never beat. Nothing to do with them not being welcoming.
