Bob Duncan stands down

Surprised to hear that Bob and Boston Town have parted by mutual consent.
He has been a loyal servant to that club.
All the best to him for the future, maybe  a scouting role at Bufc ?

Boston Town FC and Manager Bob Don-Duncan have parted company by mutual consent.

 

The Chairman, Mick Vines has stated,

“ It is the saddest day in my time at the Club”.

He added, “Bob and I have been together at the Club for a long time and I have the utmost respect for him, not only as Manager, but as a very honest person who would only give his best at all times.  I hope whatever he decides to do now, that he enjoys himself.

The Club thanks him most sincerely for all the dedication he has put into his long time at the Club, and I know he will be sorely missed by all. It is going to be very strange starting a season without Bob, he has become part of the Club.

 

Bob and I have parted on very good terms and look forwarded to seeing Bob at our home games and knowing him for so long, I am sure that he will always be there if we need any advice.”

 

We will be announcing a new manager, hopefully, within the week.

No, I've heard it's Martin Lakin and Ian Shooter who were at Bourne Town last season.

Old news!I said he was available to run our reserve team 9 days ago!I think Cookie is right about ML taking over.Apparently the team will consist of more local players.

There are a good crop of young local players off the back of our academy while in the league that will now be a prime age to play punt and chase non league football.  If they tap into the best local talent it may be of benefit to the senior Boston side.

 ;) ;) ;) I met the new manager at the John Aldridge Sportsman dinner last Wednesday.  Mind you he could of been the cleaner for all I know ;D

Lord Cutler it has to be said Town play some quality football, Bobs team get it down and play and if the local press had more interest in them the town would see some decent players there.  eg Hocking, Rowan,Gary Bull amongst others.Not a criticism but sometimes on here we underestimate what we have in the town football wise.

Agree with you Freiston Fan. I have seeen some good games at Tattershall Road.

Bob,s teams have always tried to play good football. Think the squad will be more local based this coming season.

Ok I meant more Physical rather than Punt and Chase.  These lads will be in their 20's now so of an age that you can build a team around.
