New seasons squad
« on: May 20, 2010, 07:00:09 AM »
Has Spencer Weir-Daley put pen to paper yet? What about the other non contracted players?
Assume some leagues contracts are still running re goalkeper or is Butcher number one? When will the betting odds be released about Blue square north?

If Suarez signs to then the squad will be looking very solid. Main priorities are still a goal keeper and a left back, the managers may wait and try out several in pre season if they don't have anyone lined up.

Butcher signed for another year, Gainsborough signed Paul Mayo from Corby

So that leaves:

SWD - Agreed terms but still to sign
Churchy - still considering the offer but strongly rumoured on here that he will sign
Liam Parker - still considering but see Gus's comments on this thread
Mikel Suarez - still considering no rumours  :o
Davies - needs to prove fitness before being offered anything

Hopefully the first 4 will sign. If they do I agree left back is a priority, not so sure about the keeper. I think we should have Aaron Butcher as number 1 and maybe we could have the YT keeper/bring in a loanee as cover thus freeing up money for elsewhere. Evans was only injured for a couple of games last season so in effect Butcher's wage last season was a waste.

If Davies isn't fit then another centre mid is also a priority.

Given the circumstances around Davies being told to prove his fitness before being offered anything, it still seems a shame to me that the same offer couldn't have been made to Adam Millson.
