Luke Beckett

Luke Beckett has been released by Gainsborough as he has not accepted a reduced contract. Is 33 but has scored plenty of goals for them during the last couple of seasons in the Conf North. Maybe too expensive for us though has he was reportedly on alot at Gainsborough.

Too expensive,i would think.

P.S. I've just read the article in the Echo where Beckett says "i want to stay at Trinity,there's no better non-league club"-i don't think we should be signing players with such obvious mental problems.

Saw him last year a few times,looked a bit overweight and one paced, i think he is past his best.Dont think he will improve us.

Does anyone think H&S will sign washed up, over paid, over rated and over the hill ex league journeymen like him?

I expect another young hungry team next season, the spine of this side has been retained, a couple lads who are savvy at this level will help no end.

They very nearly signed Paul Warne last summer, until he re-signed up with Rotherham.

Agree with that

1) We can't afford him
2) It's not their style, players like that are usually gash and rely on reputation to gain them a few seasons easy paydays in non-league.
