......I'll take an outside stab on Serbia.

Top scorer wil come from Brazil, Portugal or Ivory Coast.  Someone will get a shedload against North Korea and be out of reach by the group stages!

I'll be controversial and say Brazil! :D, put a tenner on them and you've a pretty good chance of doing alright. If they mess up Spain should do the honours.  The only thing that bothers me about Argentina is the manager, the team has the ability.

Like others have already said, I think Brazil have to be favourites. England will reach the quarter finals, and semis if we're lucky.

Why is it though that nobody else has yet mentioned the African teams? First World Cup to be staged on that continent and you'd have to favour some of the players to adapt better to the conditions than some of the European sides. Now I don't expect an African side will necessarily win the tournament, but it wouldn't surprise me if (say) the Ivory Coast had a run to the semi-finals.

If anyone wants to put their money where their mouth is, I have a prediction league set up here: http://www.predictionfever.com/MyLeague/joinaminileague.aspx?leagueId=24

It's a fiver to join and at the end the top 3 split the pot [currently in excess of £100].

The password for the league is GAZZASFAKEBOOBS.

You don't have to actually put all your predictions in at the time of joining.

The more the enter the merrier so please feel free to pass on to anyone who might be interested.

Germany v Spain tonight....

The bookies are struggling to split them but I still have big doubts over this German side.

Who they beat?

England????? & Argentina, who did far better than I thought they would, I put them up to be the flops of the tournament.

This has to be Spain for me, What you think?

I'm pondering over my prediction. Probably give it to you on Monday, but I'm leaning towards Spain at the moment.
