That is still the my commanding memory of that day.  I can recall very little about probably the biggest game in our history, just the horrible sight on the silent TVs as we left - not knowing what had happened and where until switching the radio on in the car.

I knew nothing about the fire on the day itself.

We had gone to Wembley on a privately run bus, and went into London after the game.  We picked up the coach again outside Kings Cross station at around midnight, picking up the Sunday paper as we did so, and obviously the fire was front page news.

A sad day indeed, but with finding out late, my memory of the game is as vivid as the day after - what a goal Cookie!!!!!

Still, that aside, it is a day of reflection, and condolences to all affected. The only good news to come from the tragedy was the way in which stadiums were forced to be updated, and look at the quality of the stadia that we have today.

I can't believe that 25 years have passed tho.

Excuse me LP, perhaps I'm missing something here, but tell me what has your post got to do with the terrible events that happened at Bradford ???

LP is referring to the BUFC related part of 25 years ago today, the trip to Wembley.

On the Bradford fire the footage, on YouTube i think(?), is a stark reminder about how quickly such fires can spread.  Shocking and moving.

Apologies Bartmac.
I should have added line about the terrible events at Valley Parade.
However, let's not forget our trip to Wembley.
