It has been rumoured that Paul Bastock may be signing for us, anyone know if this is true?

Must be in his 40's now!

I suppose he could come back as goalkeeping coach and be registered in case of an emergency. If it was my club I would say as first choice, no ...... I would echo Cardiff Pilgrims comment.

He's been playing exceedingly well at St Albans (reading NLP reports each week) at the level we're going into, so as a stop-gap for a season, I wouldn't mind him playing for us again.
I create YouTube videos (BUFC/FM/CM 01-02), and stream Football Manager on Twitch as BostonUnitedFM.

Bazza and Butcher combination might work as I would like to see Butcher get a few games to see if he is good enough.

But generally I would say no and hope they can find a eager beaver to match the players of last year.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Personally from thee little I saw of Butcher last season he should be given a go as No. 1. If he isn't considered as first choice keeper can't see him sticking around as a bench warmer again and wouldn't blame him. IMO if we do get a new number 1 don't be surprised if we're looking for a number 2 as well - not shirt number 2 for all you pedants out there.

I would much prefer Butcher being given the No1 shirt as he is still young enough to improve and if he has a good season for us then if a league club showed any interest then, given his young age, we should be able to command a decent fee for him.

Also it's probably a lot more cost effective then constantly bringing in a veteran keeper for 1 season then replacing him with another veteran keeper and so on.

I'm not normally one for bringing back players once they've left but I think bazza would be a clever signing. He's reliable, proved last season he's still good enough and I would of thought quite cheap, and I'm sure he'd be a good influence on butchers career.
