Next season's admission
« on: May 06, 2010, 12:36:55 PM »
Had a bit of a look round at Conf North admission prices for last season. Most clubs charged £10 entrance, the least being VM and Redditch at £8 and the most being Southport and Northwich at £12, a few others charged £9 or £11. Bearing in mind most clubs will be struggling due to the recession I would guess that the majority will put their prices up. Speaking for myself I wouldn't mind a small increase, say £1 on admission as we haven't had a rise for several seasons and especially if it helps to up the wage bill and/or reduce the clubs losses. £11 will more than likely be the average of the league, what is everyone else's views on this thorny subject?

If prices are to increase, i hope the club can extend the pre-season deals on season tickets to end of june/july and offer a 10 games for 8 option again. Hopefully kids prices remain the same to encourage more families. But agree £1 increase would be OK!

Season ticket holders will get 4 more games for their money this season (subject to no clubs going to the wall. )

Season ticket holders would only get 2 games more than last year.
Unidump should have been 22 teams but Newcastle Porn Star & Kings Lynn finished
leaving 20 teams - 19 home games.

Porn square North should have been 22 teams but Farsley finished so 21 home games
if the full 22 are around.

Hopefully a student ticket band will be inplemented for this season, like I saw a few clubs do in the unibond

Students were put into the concession category last season. Hopefully this year they'll get round to telling the printers so that season tickets like mine last year aren't branded "OAP"!

Din't we charge £12 when we were in Conf North couple of years ago?

A few years ago I think it was Swansea City that had a variable admission price, depending on the club's league position at the time of the game. If they were in the top five or six in the league, prices would go up by an extra pound.

Wonder if something similar would be an option at York Street? It would give the club an opportunity of "cashing in" if we were doing well, whilst at the same time encourage more people through the turnstyles if we started to struggle.

I'm pretty sure it was Swansea who tried this, though others may have also followed suit.

I think any rise would be an insult given the state of the economy and the fact many local firms have implemented pay freezes on their staff this year.

Perhaps it might be fairer if season ticket prices were frozen and any rise held back for a year.....?

This is an excerpt from 2007 - surely we cannot complain if prices at the least rise to this level.

Article Date: 5 Jul 2007

Boston United have announced matchday admission and season ticket prices for the forthcoming Blue Square North campaign.

New owners David Newton and Neil Kempster have finalised prices for the new season, which sees a reduction in the prices from the Pilgrims' final Football League campaign.

The duo have worked hard to strike the right balance between reducing prices to a sensible level and maintaining the club's important ticketing income streams.

I would be more than happy for the club to increase admission by £2 for adults as we can afford to pay that and have kids for a quid to encourage the young ones.
