Personally i think Pearson is alot better than Hoyle or Rennie they both had a few games for us in the Confrence and it was obvious they couldn't cope with the quality of opposition and were shipped out. Pearson would be fine at that level as he is quicker and reads the game fantastically considering his age.

The general feeling amongst us using this forum is that its between Pearson and Church. With this in mind how did the contenders play yesterday?. Pearson made a couple of important blocks while Church seem to be singled out for some rough stuff. Pretty even although Church got the away teams MOM. Any thoughts?

As i said before, personally Pearson is just shading it.When Church came,he came witha reputation as a good player, and was highly thought of by the Ilkeston fans, and has lived up to his reputation.Pearson,on the other hand, came pretty much as an unknown and has made the step up from Unibond1 easily.Having said that,i think Churchy is the one we miss the most when he doesn't play.

Church has had two off games this last week, what have the results been?

It is difficult for teams to single out a defensive midfielder as a threat to the game, but Church has been that good for us that teams are doing that and singling him out for the unibond treatment.

That for me sums up where my vote is going.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

am i right in thinking he was out when we lost at kendel, another bad loss at a very important time.one player that no one has mentioned, for good reason mind,is cammy.i think if he had not missed as many as he did and carried on playing like he had he would have been well up my list..unlucky i reckon

Pearson for me. Has come on in leaps and bounds as the season has progressed.
He is a leader, has been occasional captain, and scores goals.

Has made the odd mistake, but who hasn't. i just hope that he is soon on an extended contract - surely greater things await him.

It's between Church and Pearson and Church gets it for me - no question. Pearson has a great goal scoring record for a centre half but since the start of the season Church has been the most consistant player by a long way - only have to look at the amount of times he has been up for man of the match this season.

Some will look at things recently like the goal Peason got against Retthug (what a goal I must add  :))  but over the season Church the centre midfielder beats Pearson the centre half

I think this season has been a real team effort and if I could would vote for the whole team. As this is not possible there are 4 or 5 players who stand out above the rest and out of these there's 1 player that is missed most and who hasn't had a bad game all season imo - Anthony Church. Pearson has run him close but Churchy has more influence over the team and game in general.

On the subject of Pearson heard a rumour (not what I'd call a reliable source though) that he is being watched by several league sides one of which mentioned was a championship side, although one of the sides mentioned despite being in league 2 I would class as a smaller club than us. If he goes hope it is to a bigger club and obviously that we get something out of the deal.

This from the Non League Daily website today.

Paul Hurst admits members of Unibond League Premier Division Boston United's promotion chasing squad could soon become prey for Football League vultures. But the Pilgrim's joint boss insistshis talented young guns can move up the non-league pyramid by remaining at York Street.
United's spectacular post-Christmas run has catapulted Hurst and Rob Scott's side into title contention and made the side almost dead certainties for a play-off spot at least.Hurst reckons it has also pricked the ears of clubs in higher divisions, including League Two.
"There's always scouts coming to Boston to watch and we always felt that woluld be the case"said Hurst whose side host Frickley Athletic on Good Friday and visit Hucknall Town on Monday."I would like to think there would be a lot of interest in our players, but a lot of those players we would like to keep.Hopefully it'll be a case of moving forward with us.But for instance if a couple of League Two sides come in for some of our players,i don't expect to keep them. That's a fact.We feel confident we've got a lot of players within the dressing room who can play higher, whether that's League Two,the Blue Square Premier or the league above us.Some have had a go at it and their aim will to be try and get back there. There are a couple of lads at the other end of the scale that have never played higher, but have adapted well to this league." The likes of defender Shaun Pearson, midfielder Anthony Church and forward Mark Newsham, who have impressed all season, could be  on the radar of other clubs. So far only club skipper Lee Canoville is contracted to the club for next  season.

For all of those 3 we wil have to offer them same or improved terms to get anything for them.

But what sort of figure would we recieve? We would probably get the most for Church.

If we end up having to sell any of our best players hopefully there will be a sell-on fee clause added on because Pearson, Church and Newsham are all still young enough to improve even more.
