The B-Ark / Re: Full admission prices for cup game
« on: September 15, 2017, 10:32:38 PM »
Why reduce the price? Some say free entry and half price but if man u were coming would you want the price doubled. The only thing to encourage people through the gate is playing well, being entertaining and getting results. IF we get a good cup run the attendances will go up each round.
Some talk of going to watch town but then pay £20 for travel and entrance fee but moan about paying £13 to get in york street.  >:(

Long term planning re our team ,   to do that you have to have players on long term contracts ,  don't think we do that anymore
[/quote]

That's been the problem with our financial position. When we do get the good players we cannot hang on to them at the end of the season because we cannot beat other offers them players receive from other clubs. All our contracts should start short term but once in a better financial position we should be able to offer better longer contracts to establish a better squad/team when those contracts are nearing an end. All this is not going to happen until we are in the new stadium and we have a manager with the credentials. Hopefully AM has the credentials.

Money doesn't always come into it when building a new team. It takes time. If you have eleven of the best goalkeepers in the world it won't make a good side. The team needs time to gel and the manager need times to see what works and what doesn't. I, as others do also think ten games is usually time to work out what's wrong and what is needed to put things right. If the manager knows what he is doing then he will make things better. Sometimes a couple of changes can make a difference but usually a longer term plan will get you where you want. The long term plan is the route harrogate have gone down. Their stadium development is coming along. The pitch was the first improvement. The manager has had time and things are looking good for them. As for boston there is a longer plan off the pitch but that needs implementing on the field of play and the fans should be patient. Chopping and changing managers is not the answer for success. If the manager is the right person for the long term then we should by November see significant improvements in the results.

Such a shame today that we didn't perform well. Only came close to scoring near the end. Also the ref again. How they cannot see the elbows is making me think that forces are at play. Amazing turnout from the Boston fans, at least 1600 but we didn't come out looking good. There was a lot to be frustrated about but shouldn't be throwing glasses and other things at the players.
What I cannot understand is how these grounds actually come up to the required standards. One stand and six stewards yet next season they may be playing for a place in the football league. Imagine a home tie with grimsby.
I know there were a few trouble makers there today but was the police helicopter necessary. Let's hope we don't get a big policing bill .

As long as we are in the EU we are controlled by Europe which makes all the mainstream parties the same and working under the same rules with no identity. The only way this country can change for the better is to get out of eu. Only one party has the bottle to do it.

What amazeses me most about this thread is that it has more post than any of the football related threads.

I know flares are banned, but are smoke bombs?

I fail to see how a football ground serving a small minority of the population can lift the profile of the Town. And aren't we in the 21st century?  ::)

gwizz. wake up and see the bigger picture.

Just seen the Quadrant plans.

As impressive as they are I can see some serious objections from the residents around Tytton Lane, London Rd and Wyberton.

It could be a rocky road ahead.

But I'm impressed, lets just hope the stadium plans are revised with a bit more imagination.

Never known a sizable plan in Boston thats failed to raise objections .

never known a sizeable plan in boston that went ahead.

1st game i been able to get too. Shame the team did not turn up. Truly awful. Infact it was worst than last season. Good turnout from the fans who need an apology.

You can give 100% of your ability but if your crap then your crap.
Bye bye deadwood

well said. 100% means naf all if your not good enough. if we you all want boston united to win the league then all players must be of at least con prem standard and above. that will not happen because their is no money. we just have to put up with what we get for many years to come.
