The B-Ark / Free money if your quick
« on: August 13, 2011, 09:35:02 AM »
I'm laying the best price (13/8) anywhere on Boston winning today at Workington. (11/10 with the sponsors).

If you fancy a punt get on betfair and take my money. Every one of my £1 is worth £1.05 because they're rare and not very often seen in public.

Good luck to all for the season.

The B-Ark / O/T Eurovision
« on: May 11, 2011, 03:04:41 PM »
On a lighter note this weekend sees the highlight of the European music calendar, the Eurovision song contest.

I think that the talentless tone deaf duo from Ireland, Jedwood, will take all the beating and at 20/1 on betfair I've had a interest.

I just can't wait.

The B-Ark / Can we win this?
« on: January 14, 2011, 01:48:52 PM »
The FA Trophy that is.

I don't see why we can't go close. I expect us to progress comfortably tomorrow and then hope for a nice home draw.

Some of the big guns will go tomorrow, maybe Grimsby or Dalington, Alfreton could slip up, who knows? some of them will.

Somebody took the 33/1 with Corals yesterday on us winning this outright.

I'm looking forward to a trip to wembley.

What do you all think?

The B-Ark / Second favourites for the league
« on: August 23, 2010, 02:05:21 PM »
We have been cut to 7/1 joint second favourites with some bookies for the league after Saturdays emphatic win at Redditch.

Somebody took all the money on Betfair for us Saturday night ;)

Is this an over reaction. We can do no more than beat what is put in front of us but have we played a serious team yet? After watching Saturdays game I will be very surprised if Redditch don't finish bottom, and by a long way.

Alfreton are still the bookies clear favourites at 2/1.

The B-Ark / FA Cup final
« on: May 15, 2010, 11:14:28 AM »
The bookies think there is more chance of Chelsea winning by three clear goals than Pompy holding out for a 90 min draw, I don't.

While I expect Chelsea to lift the trophy I think these prices are wrong.

Best prices for 90 mins result:

Chelsea  1/5
Draw      7/1
Pompy   14/1

Somebody has just struck a £900,000 (nine hundred thousand) bet on betfair saying Chelsea will win in 90 mins @ 1.19 (less than 1/5 on) Thats risking £900,000 to win £162,450 after commision.

I'm going to have a little bet on LAYING Chelsea to win in 90 mins to pay for my afternoon out.

These prices are wrong and at some time during the afternoon I'm going to be able to trade out for a nice profit that I'll turn in to a few pints of Batemans.

Up the Pompey :)

What do you lot think?

The B-Ark / The Pilgrim Cup 2010. May 22 & 23.
« on: May 13, 2010, 09:12:35 AM »
The Pilgrim Cup 2010 — kindly sponsored by Let Us Let U — will take place at RAF College Cranwell over the weekend of May 22 and 23.

Boston-based letting agents Let Us Let U are the event’s title sponsors — with 46 teams taking part over the two days in this Centre of Excellence and Elite Development Club tournament.

The likes of Nottingham Forest, Leicester City, Grimsby Town, Rushden and Diamonds, Histon and Kettering Town will all take part — alongside teams representing host club Boston United.

Grimsby-based Pro Active Teamwear have kindly sponsored the matchballs for the inaugural Pilgrim Cup competition.

The tournament on Saturday May 22 will comprise the under-10s, under-12s, under-14s and under-16s age groups, with the under-11s, under-13s and under-15s taking centre stage on Sunday May 23.

The action on both days gets under way at 11.00am.

Event organiser and Centre coach Lewis Thorogood told bufc.co.uk: “We are extremely grateful to Let Us Let U for their sponsorship of the whole event and Pro Active Teamwear for providing the matchballs for the tournament.

“We look forward an excellent weekend of football at RAF Cranwell and supporters are more than welcome to attend.”

The B-Ark / What are we going to do to celebrate?

Although we all did our own thing last night should the club hold a official celebration 'doo' in the Pilgrim Lounge?

The B-Ark / Playoff odds
« on: April 26, 2010, 09:35:43 AM »
Bet 365 have installed us as favourites to win the playoffs and I agree. After not backing us to win the league and then thinking I'd made a mistake I think the time could be right to win some holiday money.

Boston Utd 11/8
Bradford P A 7/4
North Ferriby Utd 5/1
Kendal Town 11/2

After a one off to be forgot about Saturday I think we will well and truly stamp our authority on the second promotion place tomorrow night. I expect the incentive to win tomorrow will be that much bigger because by then we will then know that KENDAL are to be the visitors on Saturday.

The B-Ark / MGPA......New sponsor to Boston United.
« on: April 08, 2010, 11:05:46 AM »
MGPA (private equity real estate investment advisory company) are the sponsors to tonights sportsmans dinner.

Why?

They currently manage US$11 billion in assets throughout Asia & Europe so why bother with little Boston United?

The funds and clients they advise invest in the following types of real estate:

Office;
Residential;
Industrial;
Logistics, distribution and warehousing;
Retail;
Developments and redevelopments;
Hotels and resorts;
Brownfields, greenfields and masterplans.

Is this where the funding is coming from for the new stadium/hotel/sports complex?

The ideal deal size for these guys starts at US$75 million (£50million) Thats one big stadium  ;)

So many questions.............

The B-Ark / BUFC team of the week
« on: September 07, 2009, 10:04:31 AM »
With the first team, youth team, centre of excellence teams and community teams we now have well over 10 teams representing Boston United Football Club at all levels every week. I think we should have a 'team of the week'. This can be nominated by anybody that thinks a certain BUFC team as done really well that week.

For week ending 6TH September 2009 my team of the week is the Centre of Excellence under 10's. A new team at the youngest age group in the Centre, they went to Rushden and Diamonds on Sunday for their first competitive match and came away with a magnificent 7-0 victory.

Well done the Centre under 10's, team of the week.
