The B-Ark / Re: Dibble gone

I've not judged him (short of saying he did ok), I've just pointed out we are now in the same situation as early last season with a very good 'prospect' between the sticks who is a risk in Conf North first team football.

That to me is not dealing with the situation, its just another spin of the revolving door. Might come off, might not.

Setting off shortly so we will all have another 90mins to ponder!

We also conceded a soft goal from a cross on Saturday.

That was the defenders fault, keeper gave a loud shout of KEEPERS,came to punch it and would have made it had the defender not jumped into him enabling the ball to hit the FCUM player on the head and leave a tap in. If keeper shouts, you get out the way, simples.

I'm with P86 there, he was ok at best, but it seems to me a return to a Ravas type situation.  Impressive prospect yes.  But dealing with the harsh first team realities of Conf North?  A risk Dennis seems happy to take again.

I know what you mean, to some it seems like the end of the world and then others you speak to know nothing of it!  The momentum is the worry as it could get nasty and who will that help?

You have got caught in the cross fire so to speak, a consequence of the way DG is reacting to things.  Likewise I was included in a Twitter conversation with others voicing their issues and we all got blocked by him, as with you, I didn't say a word!

Hey ho  ::)

The entire off field situation between DG and a section of the support is a big problem which has been growing over time with nobody either getting a grip of it (collectively as supporters, unlikely, or Chairman to Manager, likely) and its threatening now to really disrupt on the field performances.

In short supporters of all clubs have a pop, some constructively some less so, what we have is a manager who gives it back - in my view pointlessly and only ever self defeating.

Supporters, despite the odd shout of 'I'm never going again' or 'I'm not renewing' will always be here, managers come and go.  So DG is on a slippy slope.  Does that make the abuse he gets right, no, does that mean he should sling it back, no.

To be constructive I'd say supporters collectively need to ignore him, put efforts into supporting the players and don't goad him.  DG needs to stop posting on Social Media completely or at least make accounts private (and use it as such) or open new accounts and restrict the use - harsh but he has to accept the reality of the public role he has and the responsibilities it comes with.

David Newton also has a big role to play here.  He dished our a two year deal, so let's face it folks he is happy with his performance so won't be getting sacked anytime soon regardless of if you think he should.  What he could do though is speak to him, get a grip of the communication problems which are stoking the fire and also do as he has always done, conduct business in a quiet and dignified manner - I'm not expecting public statements or grand gestures - I trust him to improve the situation even if ultimately it cannot be fixed.

Oh and yes, sack Craig and quite honestly I WOULD rip up my season ticket, we are very lucky to have him and he needs more help not a longer 'to do' list!

I'd say the 10 games gone mark gives a fair view of things, over 20% of leagues games and also before the disappointments of the cups  ;)

We have been poor, clearly, but I do think we are at the worst point of the season.  Such a huge turnover of players is in this case not the managements fault (unless you want to blame them for getting players playing up the leagues?) but needed to be better handled - time will improve this with either players shipped out or better performances.  The injuries is an excuse and also a reason, we have not got a Flyde/Salford type budget so if a player is missing then it will hurt us.  Surely we will only see this side of things improve also as they come back, some quicker than others.

IF we had a fully fit squad or thereabouts and IF we had more than the odd player from last season starting games in the 11 then I'd be really worried.

Right now I'm concerned that the time its taking to get players back and the time its taking for those fit to improve or hold their hands up is eating into the fixtures, making anything other than a mid-table finish the best we can hope for.  If we get that after the last couple of seasons is it really that bad?  Not in my eyes.

Get behind the players on the field when you can get to games, if you can't then use social media to give them a boost/encourage - we all want to see the team do better, let's only put effort into things that will do that.

we have to ask ourselves is "how much longer could we support a collapsing regime"?

No we don't, we have to ask ourselves why we have done something to ourselves with no plan of what to do next. There is no plan. At all.  Which is the single reason for the economic and trade problems we now face, it's farcical and frightening. But yeah let's just tut at a bit of abuse and crack on with all this 'control' we now have. Great work everyone.

Was facing redundancy (oil and gas industry) now confirmed as orders are moved to other plants in the EU, South America and Asia (along with approx. 500 other engineers in Leeds).

All other internal roles were moved the day after the vote to non-UK locations as there is no certainty of what the economic, trade and working relationships will be with the other global locations.  So immediately removing options to stay with the business without overseas relocation.  I also know of this happening with a friends company so not an isolated case.

Since the start of the year I've been looking at external roles, I can tell you with certainty (and is backed up more widely - http://goo.gl/tc2sVn) that there are significantly less roles available to me to apply.

The significant increase in racist and xenophobic abuse/attacks (http://goo.gl/h3mASF) is a direct consequence of the vote which had empowered those with hate to act.  I've witnessed two incidents on public transport since the vote, never seen one prior.

The building trade is even more on its arse as a direct reflection of the uncertainty (http://goo.gl/lC5pZo) pushing house prices up and meaning those of us lucky enough to be on the ladder have in effect put two fingers up to those not able to afford it and probably never will.

On the other hand this £350m for the NHS has been well spent so far, likewise the right wing government now in place has already put through an increase in the maximum tuition fees (so again two fingers to the youth, we are all right jack!) along with plans to abolish the Human Right Act applying to the UK (http://goo.gl/cIyZin)!

I'd say we are in a worse position, I'd also say bring on the shit storm that will be post-Article 50 and the increase in food/energy/transport costs as we move to WTO rules because we won't get our way (as was always said!) with membership to the EEC and 'control' immigration. (http://goo.gl/4TpdHx)

I'm fecked right off with the resignation of those who should be holding Leave promoters to account, I'm fecked right off with the 'you can't blame Brexit' rubbish from the same people that blame getting a runny nose on the EU, I'm fecked right off that my kids will have LESS choice and opportunity in the world than I did to work/live as they grow up and I'm proper fecked off with the seeming collapse of any competent political system.

So yeah two months on, not a lot, much more to come so let's rub our hands with glee as we have TAKEN BACK CONTROL!

How many are strains though, Craig did well to ask the question in the video interview after the game, something must be wrong if we have so many out with Hamstring/calf pulls?

Too much work, not enough, warm up changes?  Its a totally new (well almost) set of lads, maybe what worked with the others does not work with the current?

Lots of questions and Dennis needs to answer them by getting players either fit or in to put points on the board.  Roll on Saturday and let's get behind them!

Five missing, possibly six.  Going to be a very tough ask, just give it your best lads!

Get behind them. If our team isn't great we need the support to get us over the line.

100% agree.

Where I disagree with MNH is his annoyance ,   I feel sorry for these people .

I get your point, my annoyance is more based around the general negativity that it can have - and then that on the team etc.

To add to my other post I've now watched the video interviews post match, Wade out for 2 maybe 3 weeks.  Bugger.

I got a text midway through the game saying ‘the new Tony 'The Crane' Crane?’. Woah there. Not so fast.

I did say I might have gone early  ;)

Much better going forward than what I saw at Harrogate (which was not that bad anyway) and a lot more control in the midfield which I think does come from the target up front.  It showed that having a big man does not mean its lump it long football, but a chance to mix it and get physical when needed.

At the back though, Maguire.... not for me on the evidence of the games I've seen.  Hope he turns it around quickly.

Smith an obvious MOM in my view but also good performances from Hilliard, St Juste, Price and Wildin.

What did annoy, but in no way surprise me, was the absolute eagerness by some supporters to have a go.  One chap at half time came over declaring Greene was on borrowed time and had written off the season off entirely.  Its four games in for crying out loud, with an almost entirely new team.  The same bloke hardly smiled when the second and third went in, it's genuinely like some people want to see it all go tits up.

Not at Chorley this weekend but really looking forward to Kiddy, should be a cracker.

Don't boo at half time if we're losing, don't just moan throughout the game if the odd pass goes astray, don't make sarcastic remarks in an effort to make yourself look funny in your match-going cliques - do encourage our younger players, do respect that our players and coaching staff are human beings and do congratulate the whole club should we pick up at least a point by being positive (although someone will still find a negative if we win 5-0).

This is BUFC, we don't want our players to become afraid of playing at home - it only make things worse.

Spot on, see you all there tomorrow night!  :)
