The B-Ark / Boston v Grimsby - The Court Case
« on: September 07, 2011, 04:10:19 PM »
My brain, limited though it now is, seems to be telling me that the Court hearing is today.

Does anyone know if this is so please?

Does it still exist?

I remember payng £50 for life membership but never received a membership card.

We certainly don't need the Trust but just wondered what happened to it and the funds.

A few weeks ago I reported on an article in the Mail about Crawley having to declare who their mysterious backers are, to the FA.

Is there any sign that this has been dealt with?

If so, who are the backers please?

From the Daily Mail last week:

The Football League are examing paperwork from newcomers Crawley Town needed to pass the owners' and directors' test. This also requires the club, favourites to win promotion to League One at the first attempt, to make public on their website anyone holding a stake of more than 10 per cent - which has yet to happen. Mystery surrounds Crawley's anonymous Far East bankrollers to the extent that a shell company based at Gatwick Airport allegedly owns the club.

I wonder what crap our dear Glasgow friend (not), will come up with!!!!!!!!!!!

The B-Ark / CHAMPAGNE CHAMPAGNE CHAMPAGNE
« on: February 22, 2011, 12:18:15 PM »
The club is looking for champagne donations for the Man of the Match presentation for each home game till the end of the season (and beyond).

Asda used to donate but are not forthcoming, Tesco said they don't have a budget for it.

In the meantime the club has been forking out, so Craig and I wondered if there are any business people out there who would like to take over.  We are also quite happy for individuals to donate the odd bottle as well.

There will be a mention in the programme 'Todays MOTM champage donated by....................) and also an acknowledgement at the presentation.

There are 9 home games left, so if any individual or business wish to get in touch then please PM me on here.

P.S.  It doesn't have to be over expensive but not CAVA please!!!!!!!!!!

What a night last night in the Pilgrim Lounge.

Matt was certainly one of the best speakers we have had, and as for the comedian, Josh Daniels, you could use every superlative in the dictionary to describe his act.  Absolutely chuffin brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A total sell-out, a good meal and plenty of fund-raising.

It goes to show what can be done, not just on the pitch but off it as well.

Well done to Craig and the Pilgrim Lounge staff.

The B-Ark / BUSA
« on: September 07, 2010, 07:34:48 AM »
For various reasons I was 'Billy-no-mates' on Saturday, so decided to book on the BUSA bus - my first time ever.

I was very surprised that there were seats to spare, particularly as it represents excellent value for money overall.

A very good and clean bus, a superb unflappable driver, dropped off as near to the ground as it is possible to get, drinks and snacks at cheap prices - all in all a stress-free trip.

I certainly won't hesitate to use it again and would urge others to do so.

Well done Jan and all involved.

An absolutely magnanimous gesture from last nights sponsor to award it the team instead of an individual.

In the two-plus years that I have been looking after the sponsors on match day, this is the first time that the suggestion wasn't laughable.

Indeed, there have been times when it was embarrassing to pick one player out but on last nights performance the team rightly deserved it.

Let's hope the lads can carry last night's effort on to Saturday.

UP THE PILGRIMS!!!!!!!!

Just been talking to a mate who looks after East Coast Juniors in the under 16's and he tells me that that it must be something to do with  Retford in general as their under 16's were as bad as the 1st team.

It wasn't just the players, he said that the parents and manager were from the same mould!

Sweet revenge though, as the ECJ team won the final on penalties!

The B-Ark / United fundraising
« on: December 10, 2009, 03:48:33 PM »
Just a thought but I have a signed away shirt from United's first season in the Football League, plus a signed ball, which I won in a raffle at Springfields.

I would be happy to sell them, seperately, if anyone is interested.

You can either pm me with offers or contact Craig at the club.

Every penny will be donated to the club.
