The B-Ark / Re: New signing?
« on: July 03, 2017, 12:03:03 AM »
Personally I think you can add Telfptd to the list of teams that will do well. Rob Edwards was first team coach at wolves and previously their u23 coach. Now he is manager at Telford ( a place Wolves play their u23 games at) and the fact Telford have received some major investment and I expect they will utilise Wolves for many loan signings means Telford could be a big deal next year. Rob Edwards is also a top top coach and was even apparently considered for the manager job at wolves last summer. Of course it could all go wrong like most non league projects

Mate dont mention that. I did it didnt go down well

I've got a County supporter work colleague at Manchester City Council who is over the moon about this signing.

With us signing two on-loan defenders from York City it looks like the Minstermen are sending out a few players on-loan. Were we not interested then in taking Felix, did he prefer to go elsewhere or did we have different priorities. I suppose after last week's mauling we did need to address some defensive issues!!

He would not come back here if we had tried.........

Why?

Can't believe people are panicking about the new stadium, does anyone honestly think The Chestnuts would be still be plowing money into the football club if there was a danger of the club having nowhere to play. See you all on Saturday fellow idiots.  UTP.

Friendly on here. I get the last sentence was a joke but jeez..maybe we shouldn't have a forum. By your logic we shouldn't question greeny and we'll be in the champions league on 6 years. Don't question the chestnuts. Right I'm gonna go off and forget I wondered how things were progressing.

Green hats mate. - sorry. You are right the last time I was involved with  planning was the 90's. I spent a small amount of time with nkdc and did my GNVQ in the built environment. I didn't expect it to have changed so much . my comments were inaccurate because of that and I'm sorry.

Apparently a councillor on the planning committee hasn't got a clue what's going on down there! Just seen a tweet!

Out of the planning committee hands when its been passed .  unless a football fan why should they be interested .

First of all thanks for all the replies. Im pleased I asked this as it seems there is a lot of unanswered questions.

I've highlighted the quote above because the planning department will still have involvement. A project doesn't just get approved and then the planners have no more input. That just isn't the case. At various stages of the development the building offices come to the site to check the work and there guys are part of the planning department. ie. Before the drainage is all concerted over the quality of work to the services ( water mains , drainage , electric and gas are inspected first. The same as a new house would for example.

With regards the gap in funding can't the stadium be half built to minimum standard and one side be left but like Oxford did at first.

Im pretty sure as well if the development wasn't done in time it was stated Boston towns ground would only need minimal work to make it conf North standard and Boston town have said they would ground share short term.

The lads who go watch us away is Boston towns ground much lesser of a standard than some in our league??

But some of these quotes and points were made a while ago so I don't know if it all still valid.

I've googled it and I can't find any new info.

I see the roundabout is complete.

There doesn't seem to be any info on the ground work starting in the public domain or on the o/s site, Google or the this forum.

Any body know any thing about the progress or lack of progress.

Thanks

Richie.

I can assure you a handful of people clapped the second goal. What I will say in all fairness there wasn't anymore unpleasant Greene abuse second half.

If you've got personal issues with the manager then indicate it before the game or after. I can't see what the gain is while the game is being played. It certainly doesn't do the players any favours ..

Disgusting.

Also some of our 'fans' cheering the second goal as part of their vendetta towards Greene is pathetic.

Whether your pro Greene or not there's no need for it. Personal insults as well. DO YOU KISS YOUR MOTHER WITH THEM LIPS!!!!

Game wise at half time Brackley score from their first two attacks and a referee watching a completely different game. How our 2 players got yellow carded while their number 3 escaped one I will never know.

I expect more strange decisions and Brackley time wasting second half.

Jamie McCombe is out of favour at Lincoln city I would try and get him on loan for a month then maybe Nat will be available.

Good shout that Dave. It is exactly what is needed.

As the title suggests.

My opinion for what it's worth. Maguire is a good centre back who in my opinion would turn into an excellent centre back with an experienced centre back partner.

Either we need Nat Brown to return to match finess and play it we should be looking for another experienced defender.

Ie. A Kevin Austin, Stuart Balmer, Alan White style experienced centre half.

Anyone know when Nat Brown is back. ?

Haven't we been here before with (a) Rob Wesley, and (b) Ashley Timms? Didn't we re-sign Paul Casey after he'd been released from prison? Trouble is, signing a player with a criminal record will always attract some form of hostile reaction - irrespective of what that player then achieves on the pitch.

I don't think we necessarily need a goalkeeper coach when our assistant manager is an ex-keeper, but I'll agree to disagree with Dennis on that one. As a player, hopefully Emery's dark days are behind him and I wish him well in a Boston shirt. Let's be positive - at least we haven't signed Ched Evans.

Ched Evans isn't guilty. Read the facts. He's an idiot for cheating on his girlfriend but he ain't no rapist. Hasn't he been cleared now. Unlike someone like Lee Hughes who will always be a murderer FACT.

Would it be fair to say that Boston town's ground is better than North Ferriby.
