The B-Ark / Rotherham sack manager
« on: March 21, 2011, 08:40:31 PM »
Breaking news: Ronnie Moore sacked as Rotherham manager.

Not trying to fuel speculation as nothing could have happened yet, but it's certainly noteworthy. Hopefully for us nothing comes of it.

Not all of the stand - but most of it.

The other 77 are presumably squashed together VERY tightly!  :D

Think I'm looking forward to the count-up of Gainsborough fans as much as the actual game tomorrow!

Hopefully a big crowd will turn out but if you need score updates but you are on your phone and can't access the various live services tomorrow then the latest score and teams will be available at www.endeavouronline.net/bufc.

Full, uninterrupted live commentary of the match will of course be on www.endeavouronline.net as always too - with coverage starting at 2:45pm with a pre match interview with one of the managers. You can text 07781480547 with your comments.

The B-Ark / Boston United v Workington Commentary
« on: September 10, 2010, 06:57:32 PM »
A top of the table clash tomorrow, I keep looking at the table and thinking pessimistically but then I remember that Workington aren't going to fancy playing at York Street themselves!

For those of you who can't make it tomorrow then as usual there's full LIVE match commentary of the game on Boston's community radio station via www.endeavouronline.net, with coverage starting 15 minutes before kick off. There'll be pre and post match interviews with one of the managers, plus other reaction to the Pilgrims' game and all the week's sport from across the UK.

You can text in your comments on 07781 480547, and email studio@endeavouronline.net.

And don't forget to check out the matchday centre at www.endeavouronline.net/bufc

The B-Ark / Magnificent - congratulations!
« on: August 21, 2010, 07:15:16 PM »
Well done to the entire team and every single player that is a part of it today, and the managers too. If we had lost 9-0 today there'd be a 5-page long match thread, so I guess it should work both ways.

I've never had so much confidence in our manager(s) at York Street before, and it's hard to criticise a single player at all, over the last season and a bit they've all made a very positive contribution to this club. The players are professional, sing from the same hymn sheet and have the right qualities to achieve the success they so richly deserve. We can play fantastic football, we can mix it with the dirty teams and we know how to win - home and away.

Add to all that the efficient and professional jobs done by staff behind the scenes, how wonderful our home stadium looks, and our strong crowds that most non league clubs would kill for (let's not forget two seasons ago we were dipping to 8 or 900 ourselves), and the most approachable, sensible, financially prudent and honest board we've had for years and it all looks very rosy.

I'm not getting carried away, I'm not saying how well we'll do this season, but the point has to be made now and then. 9-0 is 9-0. With today's result, added to an 11-0, 10-0 and 7-0 last season, just as nowadays we look back to records usually set in the 50s, it seems that this is and could be quite an era to be a Pilgrim, and one will that be looked back on with envy by future BUFC supporters!

When so much can go wrong at a football club I just think congratulations are due all round to those working for and representing BUFC at the moment, because from where I stand things couldn't be more perfect. However you look it; position in the table, goals conceded, everything! It's astonishingly good - I never thought such high standards were possible.

The B-Ark / Happy Chestnut Day!
« on: July 04, 2010, 07:34:32 PM »
3 years to the day since THAT press conference.  A fitting time to once again show our appreciation and thanks to David Newton and Neil Kempster, and those who fought to keep the club running that summer.

Also interesting to note that under the original CVA we would have emerged from it just recently. Those three years did go very quickly.

The B-Ark / Benefits of being promoted
« on: June 29, 2010, 12:28:47 PM »
See how many benefits we can think of for being back in Blue Square North, I'll start:

1) We're back on Football Manager
2) Easier to get scores from other matches
3) We join the FA Cup and FA Trophy at a later stage
4) Larger attendances (including more than 5 away fans for most games)
5) Promotion carries a bigger reward
