The B-Ark / Re: Harrogate away
« on: February 23, 2014, 11:13:53 AM »
farcical!!!

the reason we are unlikely to be in the play offs is our inability to play well away from home against the top sides.

Against the other top 5 sides away from home we have lost them all.

Its a shame because the league this year is more wide open than many previous years and more consistency and a few better results would have put us right in there. We are not out of it yet, but have a mountain to climb now

Our record against the better teams away is still rubbish. Cant see us winning this.
Hope I am wrong, but until we do actually beat a top team away, stats say no win.

Harrogate 1 Boston Utd 0

Big disappointment Saturday especially second half. Dont very often disagree with you Andy, but yesterday we did look a "small" team compared to them. At times as in yesterdays conditions I think an element of physicality helps. They did look a good side and well organised, and we were a bit unfortunate with both of their goals, but our ability to not lose the big games is costing us big time. Our record against the other top 4 sides so far read played 6 won 0, drew 1 and lost 5. Not play off material, especially as several sides below us--Barrow, Stockport, Altrincham, Harrogate, maybe Guiseley are all playing very well and 8 of the remaining 13 games are away.

Sad news that Liam Marrs may miss the rest of the season, as he has probably been one of our best players. Although Ricky Miller has been fantastic this year, I am getting increasingly frustrated that often he will not pass to others in front of goal when they are in better positions. I know all goalscorers can be greedy and often need to be, but every match this is happening, and despite everything we could have got a point yesterday if he had not been too greedy. End of rant, this sesaon is so much better that the last two.

Considering his age he is a tremendous prospect. He will improve with experience, but one thing he needs to improve is decision making coming off the line, but overall he has done well, although a wet Tuesday at Altrincham will test him out. Assess him after that match if he plays.

I think this will be a very tight game. Bad record at home against them.
I have to go with a win, but I am far from confident

Terrific performance today, but come on folks-- dont get too carried away yet. the next 7 games look very tough. If we can get through those with plenty of points then we can start to think of the play offs. I hope we can keep this squad together for the rest of the season as there are bound to be other clubs sniffing around after the last few home performances. So come on Board keep these players together.

Also I have to say I thought the referee was very good today Not something you will here me say very often!!!

Our record is poor against this team, and they appear to have improved this year. However I feel we are about to hand out a big defeat to somebody so ---

tough game with the suspensions and injuries.
like the looks of the loan signings espec with 2 more to come.
Despite this we still have to beat a top half side away this season.

Difficult, but lets be positive

Interesting. 7 very difficult games which will have a huge impact on our season. Vital who the additional 2 players are, we must tighten up in midfield as these teams will punish us and if we do not play well we could not win any of them. If we can get 14 points that will be great, but I suspect it will be less 10 to 12 max.

I have never been a fan of players coming back, but I will be cheering him on, the same as all the others. Will he be fit enough to start  though?
