I can't really believe we're even doubting Newsham what so ever, last year we could'nt buy a goal at times (just look at last seasons fixtures and notice the distinct lack of goals for large chunks of the season). True, he may not chase back and hassle defences like Ricky Millar did at the end of last season but do you think ricky would have banged in 25 with games still left to play? Maybe not, who knows.

I like Newsham, he's young and still developing physically so my opinion is that he will only improve with age and end up plying his trade at a higher level in the years to come. I hope thats with us but i think he will get snappped up if we fail to progress. It was often said that a certain Ian Rush "went missing" for 89 mins of a game but popped up and did the business time after time. Anyone who sticks the ball in the old "onion net" 25 times will do for me. It's a great indication though of our rise again as a club if we are even debating such a topic, i remember less than a year ago i was scratching my head for a player of the year and could think of perhaps two players i wanted us to retain in the close season.

Making the playoffs is still going to be tough, yesterdays win was massive and may prove to be decisive in the coming weeks. I thought the Buxton game had everything, drama, a clown of a ref, a good physical opposition, late goals and a good old non league scrap in the dugout and all of this in freezing mist. I would'nt swap any of that for premier league bollocks ever. David Newton and co have worked miracles around the place in the last couple of years and theres a real positive buzz around the ground.

I thought all the lads were fantastic yesterday and battled for best part of an hour with ten men. Strangely, up until the sending off i thought we were off the pace and lucky to be level. Football never ceases to surprise me, evern after nearly 30 years of following us. I had a strange feeling we could still nick it at the end if we got a set piece. Pearson for me has turned out to be a hell of a signing, at just 20 he commands the back four, is extremely vocal, physical, commited and you know he'll throw his body at anything. Fantastic bullet header aswell. Must also give Parker some long overdue credit as i doubted his ability last season and thought he was out his depth. He's come on leaps and bounds in a year and with his versatility i think he's become a really important player for us. Well done Liam, a good solid centre half if ever i saw one.

Well done lads, i won't be seeing much of us for a while now as i'm relocating down to Brighton but what a game to leave on. Hopefully get back for the FC United game, can't miss that one.

It's all about opinions Townender, no doubt there are players that i'm not so keen on that you rate. The main thing we all realise is that we are F#*@ing a million miles better than last year. ;D

Worst player!! you've got to be joking? I think Clarke has done well considering he's been out of position most of the games he's played for us. What i do like about him is his enthusiasm for the game and for this club, a breath of fresh air compared to last year. I think if he's played straight down the middle like at Stamford he will come up with the goods.

I can remember Cookie badly breaking his arm at Bath and also the fact that Evans apparently layed into a very young and inexperienced team for their loss. Not sure if this is a load of bull@**t but i was informed that Matt Carmichael defended the young lads and he had Evans by the throat, also never played for the club again. Should have killed Evans!

I really like the look of Suarez, big, strong, good in the air and decent feet as well. Big men are a bit like marmite to football fans, you love em or hate them. Despite how well Crouch does, there will always be people on his case and the same seems to apply with many other big strikers. I remember big Bob Lee getting his fair share of stick but he always did a job for us and the same could apply to Jason Lee. These guys will never skin a defence and slot the ball home, they are a different player. I bet if you ask defenders who have marked Suarez if they feel they've been in a game i'm sure they will all say yes. Good luck to him.

Sorry to be behind the times here but i didn't go to the game on Saturday due to work etc. I can only really comment on what i see before me, which was incidently Quorn away last Tuesday. I was shocked and stunned as anyone to lose to such opposition but to read certain threads on the site saying we are a disgrace etc is a tad over the top and way off the mark. Collectively on the night it just didn't happen and it was frustrating to watch, but show me a side that haasn't lost to lower opposition before and i'll show my arse in Oldrids window all December. Do you think Charlton fans would approach their manager behind the dugout and call him a s**t after today at Northwich? No i doubt it as well. As for the "supporter" who decided to berate Rob Scott in front of me at Quorn, i'm pleased Rob gave you far more back than you expected. YOU were an embarassment to the club and proved to be a typical fickle fan who shows no support the minute we come unstuck. This season is going to have more ups and downs in it as we get to April and the only way the club will move forward is if we all pull together. It's a young squad who will make errors along the way. Just cast your mind back to this time 12 months ago, as Rob kindly pointed out to you.

Never a fan of Matthews, poor distribution, lightweight and not missed in my opinion.

Never a penalty that! If anything the forward should be red carded and Evans subsequently banned from ever setting foot inside a football ground again. Sounds fair?

I remember going up to Stocksbridge to watch us lose to Sheff Wed reserves in some Pontins cup semi final about five years ago. I sat next to Scottish Sumo and his chief scout brother. It wasn't so bad as i ran a bar in the city at the time so was only about five miles away. The ground is onto of a huge hill, off the main road that runs through Hillsborough and the Outabridge (wrong spelling i'm sure). It's certainly an experience, Wembley it aint! See you there.

Go on arry give it some  :) To be fair to arry he's entitled to defend his club as we all would in his situation. On reflection i was a little sour after Monday night with the late goal & running track and all that, but come on arry mate you can never defend those pies of yours, mine was as dry as Ghandi's flip flop! :P
