Threenil is quite right - Alfreton have only really played Nuneaton so far who are likely to finish in the top half, so we don't know how good they really are.  Workington's first real test was against us, and look what happened to them.

But teams like Redditch, Stafford and Hinckley could argue that they are only in the bottom half because they've played against the top teams like Alfreton and Boston!  It's a bit early in the season to judge some teams.

Alfreton are likely to be one of the main contenders for promotion - let's hope we show on Saturday that we will be right there alongside them!

They might have a strong defence, but with Darren Stride in the middle they might just be vulnerable to the pace we have in our front four.

But Alfreton (and Corby) fans will be saying the same about us!

No one will be keen to play us on their own pitch after our last two away games.  It is important psychologically to put down a marker early in the season to say 'we are one of the best teams in this division'.  If we'd started like this last season we'd have won that league by March.

If we've still only lost one after the next 3, we're in with a shout

Totally agree.  Not only did they stay until the end, they were still singing well after the final whistle as we were leaving the ground.

Nice to see some real supporters at a club that will be struggling again to stay in the division - hope the team can give them something to cheer about soon.

Does anyone know what if the player that was injured at the end of the game is OK - he was still being treated after everyone else had left the pitch.  Nothing too serious, I hope?
