The B-Ark / Jim Harvey - disgrace
« on: March 10, 2012, 08:51:39 PM »
For those who weren't there or didn't see it, when Newsh scored the first he ran over to his brother in the stand to celebrate.  As he ran past the Stalybridge dugout, their manager Jim Harvey tripped him.

You don't even see that at schools level football.  Appalling behaviour by such an experienced manager and he should get a long touchline ban as a result.  He certainly needs to make a public apology to Newsh and BUFC.

He got what he deserved with the result, let's hope he gets an appropriate punishment as well.

I'd like to hear Mr Stretton's reason for not sending Harvey to the stand (as well as his explanation for all the injury time - we played 105 minutes today and have another game on Monday!)

Tim Ryan also let himself down by mouthing off to the crowd.  The stewards did well in a difficult situation but they were told (and told us) that Ryan would be kept in the dressing room for the second half, but he then wasn't.  I assume that was down to the ref, who clearly thought we wanted to watch him.  His most bizarre decision was saved for last - he booked a Staly player apparently for taking a free kick (time-wasting?  they were 3-1 down 8 mins into injury time!) then made them re-take it and they scored from the second attempt.

The B-Ark / Dudfield - staying or not?
« on: August 23, 2011, 01:22:56 PM »
Does anyone know if he will be in the squad tonight?
Match preview on the O/S conspicuously doesn't mention him one way or the other, which suggests that it's not been decided.  Maybe Jason is still trying to persuade him?

The B-Ark / Away goals?
« on: May 03, 2011, 01:28:17 PM »
Does anyone know if away goals are taken into account over the 2 legs?

0-0 would be a good result tonight, but if it might come down to away goals we would want to score a goal or two.

The B-Ark / Lincolnshire Shield
« on: March 29, 2011, 05:48:15 PM »
As we've been drawn against Lincoln United in the Lincolnshire Shield, I assume that the Lincs FA have decided we won't be going up again this year.

If we end up in the same division as Grimsby next season, surely we should play in the same level of Lincs FA competition?  Or have Grimsby been demoted to the Shield as well?  Is the Lincs Senior Cup now just Scunny v Lincoln?

The B-Ark / Andy Scott

Has been sacked by Brentford.

Will no doubt find another job in the lower leagues - he seemed to be doing OK at Brentford for a while.

Hope he won't want his brother to join him in a management team somewhere

The B-Ark / Jim Rodwell's financial management course - Part 1

Big Jim's been talking to the press as well:

"We depend on an FA Cup run to bring money into the club"?  Nice to see he's not lost his business acumen!  A cup run is a nice bonus for a lower league club, but to 'depend' on it financially suggests the club is living beyond its means.

Would be interesting to see his budget calculations - by reaching the FA Cup 4th round, the Champions League final and winning the World Cup, they will be solvent!

In normal circumstances I'd be delighted to see County and Crawley getting this far in the cup, but because of the people involved I can't help but feel that these are the heights these clubs will reach before a massive fall.  I hope not, for the fans's sakes.
