Stockport away. I went with 2 mates the year we lost 3-2 and Piergianni got a red card. When we got to the ground and asked where we could get a pint, we were told to go to a social club 200 yards down the road that hadn't seen a re-decoration since The Comedians in the 1970's. The result was false, we should have lost 6-2. This was a few days after the 7-2 home defeat to Oxford City. After the game we walked backed towards the train station. There is a pub on a small roundabout between the ground and the main road to the station. All 3 of us wanted a pint. As soon as the pints were served, a number of the local troublemakers decided to encircle us at the bar.  All 3 of us were in our mid-50's at the time. What they didn't know was one of my companions was an ABA Area middle- weight champion in his youth. He also had a VERY short fuse and a lethal left hook. The first lump he hit was unconscious before he hit the floor. The second was hit so hard in his "bread-basket", he couldn't breathe. The pub went very quiet , very quickly, and we left with no further aggravation.

No goals. In 50% of our games. CE knows some of his signings were "wrong 'uns". He will sort this. I would happily stand in the trenches, shoulder to shoulder with CE, covered in s*i*e, waiting for the whistle. UTP forever.

Oxo:: I have finally filled my marmalade jar. It has taken a year. I will be coming to York St for my annual Autumn pilgrimage on Oct 13 for the Blyth Spartans match. I will hand it over in the Pilgrim Lounge before the game. UTP.

Have just watched nearly 20 minutes highlights on the Leamington website. Good quality footage. I share CE's concerns, and applaud his response. I could add my own comments but will refrain from doing so at present. I posted a few months ago that those that disappoint will not be visible for long.

Just seen Ricky Miller score a 20/25 yard free-kick for Port Vale against Cambridge. He looked rather pleased! Hope he keeps on the straight and narrow this time.

I've just revisited Keane and Hemmings interviews after the Telford game. Two faced is a compliment. Without CE both would be unemployed today. I saw Keane at Southport after a summer with AM and he needed L and R painted on his boots. Hemmings was so lazy under AM he actually put on weight! I am delighted both have gone and I suspect CE hasn't lost any sleep. I am certain their replacements will prove to be inspired signings.

I'm happy to trust the choices CE has to make. What will our strike force look like? I actually think Thompson will sign on for a season in preference to a return to Guiseley. Farewell and best wishes to Greg Smith. The ankle injury he got at Trinity was horrendous and I don't think he recovered 100%. My one wish on the retained list is the return of Harry Vince from Matlock. I rate Harry. Will there be a new goalie in the squad? I'm not sure about that one. Looking forward to August but time for a break.

Oxo, I've picked the wrong marmalade jar. It's taking the mickey out of me. It won't be full before the Telford game but I will bring it to you early next season. The bonus is there are a lot of 5p coins in it so far. UTP.

The B-Ark / Re: CHORLEY ON SATURDAY

This time they kept the holy clean sheet. The away play-off leg in 2015 Pidge and Co. never gave them a sniff but Jones and Southwell both missed sitters. Very noisy Utd fans that night. Maybe a 3 hour hold-up on the M62 was the cause.  Stick with CE. He's up for it. DG was up for it as well, but after the Ferriby defeat in the 2016 play-offs, he lost the plot and I think he lost interest. I can still see a bright, new dawn.

Closer to relegation than the play-offs. Scary run-in. Plenty for CE to think about. I still think he'll be good for this club. He won't spend the close season in Spain. Anyone who disappoints will be shown the exit door without any fuss.

WOW! Well done lads! Three points taken from a "play-off" side who thrashed us earlier this season. Any player carrying a niggling injury now has an extra week to get right before home games against Curzon and Leamington. Talking of which, how did Greg get on today? Five points off 7th place.

In my defence GHM, after over 4 hours of 1st gear travel on the M6, I wasn't at my best. I hadn't got a clue that Southport played in yellow either. Thanks for the welcome joshb.

Greetings everyone, new member. Opening game of the season[4-0 at Southport], I missed the first 20 minutes or so because of a pile-up on the M6. As I walked in the ground at the Boston end I saw a player in an all yellow outfit take advantage of a mix-up between goalie and centre half and score a goal. Naturally I thought the Pilgrims had scored and cheered accordingly. Wrong. Boston were in all-white and that was 2-0. Various Utd supporters eyed me up like I was their next meal. I slowly retreated to the end of the terrace and watched the rest of the debacle unfold. Appalling.
