Great result and good all round performance against a solid Leamington side. Shame about the red cards but there's never an excuse for the handbags that we saw. You'd have thought Middleton was on the pitch Regardless of how 'poor' the ref may be, you have to let him/her make the decisions - you can't go dishing out punishment yourself as a player. On the subject of refs, I get a bit tired of the criticism to be honest. We're six levels down the pyramid and we're going to get the standard of official that this is entitled to. Plenty of crap refs, crap players, crap grounds and crap spouted by certain supporters at this level. Get used to it or trot off to the world of VAR where everything is perfect and not a single decision is ever questioned.
TEP
Spennymoor forecasted to have rain and thundery showers tomorrow. If the game had not been postponed we would probably have had the game called off after our team and fan's coaches arrived at the ground!
Spennymoor have announced a community open day at their ground on Saturday. It's an insult to us that they can postpone the game but then announce an alternative event on the ground that will presumably boost home club coffers.
I heard our match was postponed due to an electrical safety issue inside the stadium.
Fine is irrelevant
They're minted
Need to be forfeiting the game or having 3pts deducted each time they pull this stunt
I really do feel that the refs at this level do not get enough support from the linesman, a ref can't see everything and the boys and girls that run the line seem frightened to put the flag up for fouls and etc.
I also think that decisions for and against you level out over a season.
Referees have the power to tell their assistants what they are there to help with - a lot of them ask them to do line calls and offsides only, others want them to help with fouls. The higher up you go, the more communication between the ref and his assistants (mainly due to the earpieces, where they constantly talk throughout the game) and they make joint decisions.
I see Spennymoor game called off AGAIN
Why are they calling off a game in August? Seriously it's already been said on here: They need to be relegated a few league's down until they get the message. It's a disgrace at this level. We were all sorted to go!

I think we need to hit the relevant ground-gading criteria by March 31st... unless we get a groundshare sorted (doesn't actually have to happen! We can sign a groundshare agreement to keep us at this level, and have the new ground graded over the summer).
The 3 terraces will go up as quick as a Lego set, but it's the main stand that will probably be half-finished when we move in (i.e. the extra facilities underneath).
I keep reading this about the three stands going up as quick as a lego set. Has no-one actually bothered to look at the plans? This is clearly not true. This isn't some crappy two-bit metal terrace you get at a lot of new non-league grounds. We're building turnstiles, kitchens, bars, storage rooms, toilets and proper concourses in ALL of the stands. We're doing a proper job. This will take time.
For once I get what Scott is saying, I'm old enough to remember the two terraces going up in the early 80's and I think from memory they took about 10-12 weeks from demolition to fitting out and opening. The ground was two sided for a few end of season games in the NPL but fully open for the start of the APL season.
And remember, the new build terraces aren't anything like as big as what we have at present.
All the best to you for the season
