The B-Ark / Re: Today v BPA
« on: April 11, 2016, 10:37:39 AM »
although i expected us to win we won well. It was a much improved performanace than the games against Worcester, NFU and Brackley. I know the pressure was off once we were 3 up but the passsing and movement was like we played last year when we went on that excellent run.

3 big games at the end of the season which hopefully will become 6.

I know DG said a draw between Harrogate and Nuneaton would be good but i think a Harrogate win would put more pressure on Nuneaton and I see them as our main rivals for 5th.

Boston United form in last 8 games W1 D1 L6 which is the worst in National North.

72 points has got teams in the playoffs for the last few years, but 70 might do it this year. As we have a poor goal difference we are going to need at least 71 so last 6 form needs to be W - W - W - D - W - W.

So win 5 games and get a draw at Harrogate and it means the play offs, easy!

can't even agree with myself over the last week whether we will make the playoffs or not.

Trouble is most of us on here really care about BUFC and get emotional, once emotions are involved things can be said that come across wrong and people can take things the wrong way.

One thing we can all agree on, we want 3 points tomorrow!

surely 2 JCB's isn't enough, we need more strength in depth and should get at least 4 new ones in.

I think we have a tough run in and only see us getting 13 points.

Home         North ferriby   draw   1
Home         Brackley Town   win   3
Away         Tamworth                 draw   1
Away         FC United    win   3
Home         BPA                  win   3
Away         Harrogate Town   lose   0
Home         Nuneaton                  draw   1
Away         Stalybridge Celtic   draw   1

that would give us 68 points and that won't be enough. Dont think Saturday is a must win but games against Tamworth and Nuneation possibly are as they are our main rivals for the fifth slot. However beating NFU would be a huge result and would keep them in our sites.

Im a self confessed happy clapper, my initial comment to start the thread was a bit tongue in cheek, didnt think it would end up being factual.

I think the playoffs are going to be a close run thing, still think our midfield are the problem (if we have one) and we often struggle against the physical sides. But we are heading towards another exiciting end of season, ive supported BUFC 40 odd years and ive seen some seasons over by the new year and crowds dwindling and stood at the town end with about 50 people in a crowd of a few hundred. Lets be posiitive we are in the mix and have a chance, if you had offered me that at the start of the season considering there are some biggish spenders in the league I would have took it.

Good - have to agree about D'Laryea, hoped we were going to sign him this closed season but he went to Gainsboring, covers so much ground and closes play down brilliantly. The other players that stand out for me are Ferriby's keeper Nicklin and Jason St Juste who was outstanding for Ferriby last year but not sure his pulling up any trees at BPA this year.

Bad - Stockports whole team 2nd half at Boston this season, we could have had 8 or 9 that game.

Ugly - it has to be Nathan Jarman, horrible, horrible git.

I'm as guilty as many others in that this thread has only a few posts when it was an excellent result. They had only lost twice at home this season and only twice in their last 10 games. Well done Dennis and the team, certainly back in the hunt for the playoffs even though weve played a few more than others.
