surely you'd want someone with experience of mixing it with the playoffs/promotion or actually going up from the BSN.

That said, whilst results this season are getting worse, as long as we do what we should (mid table) from here on in, give him next year, no excuses.
I don't want us to become a joke club and have a conveyor belt of managers each season. Just grit your teeth and get behind GD and the team, 2 home games with this doom and gloom atmosphere are the last things the players need.

Lot of pics going found tonight of the pitch.
Add in Newsh's comments that its like a cowfield, that's likely to fire them up or get the pitch into our players' heads and they'll think of the bad pitch rather than playing the game.
The pitch could be the leveller we need tonight. I didn't go to the home game but it sounded like they were the better side and 2-1 was a touch generous for us. Hopefully we can grind out a result, which hasn't happened for a few weeks.

Just read the above couple of posts and seems a decent performance  :)

It depends what you define as decent.
If matching Solihull Moors is decent, then it was, but really it was 2 mediocre sides and they did just enough to win

as I said, they had similar amount of chances tto us and their goalie made some good saves. Haystead played quite well too but they got a bit of luck with the own goal and we didn't take our good chances. A draw would have been the right result on balance perhaps but we definately didn't do enough to win. They hit the post twice so would have felt annoyed if they didn't win

no, lost 4-3 on agg. Went 1 down today, levelled it up at HT. Then Trinity got another with 6 minutes to go and hammered Wrexham with long balls into the box and almost scored on several occasions but Wrexham held on, and not even the Gainsbro stewards could keep them off the pitch to celebrate

Looked a good crowd, maybe 2000 but 900+ Wrexham went apparantly

26, OK, heard it wrong. The Solihull keeper has impressed me in both games I've seen (Away today and away 2 seasons back)

Disappointing game really, Milnes had an early half chance well over and then they hit the post after Haystead (who had a reasonable game) made a good save. Then both sides struggle to get on top of eachother and Milnes misses a 1 on 1 when he should score, Newsh hits the post from a header at a tight angle and Stainfield goes close with a back stick header, then we concede, not a great goal to give away.
2nd half we start bright and Newsh has one disallowed for offside, Foster hits a great shot well saved by their goalie, who then makes a worldie from a Newsham header and we can't scramble the rebound in. They hit the post too after lobbing Haystead from well out.

Overall, we definately didn't do enough to win but a draw would have been the right result, just they got given a goal and we didn't.

Not too many of us- maybe 70 or 80- apparently 46 on the coach, Hoping Drury has decided to do as little as posdsible to stay in the league (budget-wise) and save that budget for next season so we have a bit more to spend.
Paul Holden was speaking to a few of us before the game- he was looking forwards to preseason, hoping to have the fittest pre season team ever and looking at bringing in a few- the Derby area was mentioned for players. He said they'll fight particularly hard to keep Newsh (we really need to, some fans wouldn't be surprised to see him snapped up).

as for performances, Haystead steady, defence looked comfortable generally but would then slip in a silly error, Mayo had his worst game for us after he impressed me in his other games. SWD looked more of a threat than recent games (not hard though). Lacked real presence up front- Newsh struggled to get into shooting positions though he almost scored with that header. Midfield did OK first half, we made some good moves but lacked a killer edge or a good final ball but they got on top of us for spells in the 2nd half.

And i suppose they're paying his wages with a new pie sponsor he's brought on board... they'll be back where they were 3 years ago soon

If we're at the stage where we're pleased (I was pleasantly surprised) to get a 900 gate then its a sad state of affairs... We got more when we were in the drop zone of the UniBond, facing the prospect of trips to Loughborough Dynamo and Stone Dominoes

Only 1 team in it first 25 mins- Wrexham should have been at least 3 if not 4 or 5 up. Then Stamp scores and it gives them confidence and Wrexham are struggling to create real chances.
Not many there for a semi final, Gainsborough have a few and if they keep the tie alive after today its a result on and off the pitch for them
