The B-Ark / Re: Non League Paper report still has Evans as manager
« on: April 20, 2014, 11:39:20 PM »
My sincere apologies to Paul Edwards at Leamington. He has also twittered the NLP to point out their "error" and that someone in the NLP office changed his report to insert Steve Evans name. I hope the NLP editors look into this - it may be an innocent mistake but I have my doubts as Paul's report seems to have been deliberately altered prior to print. If someone at the NLP has stupidly done this as a laugh they have, instead, ruffled a few feathers here at BUFC and also at Leamington, losing a few future sales of this newspaper as well!. :bunny

Leamington must take some of the blame. Even if their reporter "Paul Edwards" did not write the first 2 sentences of his report - which I find hard to believe as surely you don't need a "ghost writer" for these items - they have made a huge and insulting gaff!
No, it's entirely the NLP. The reporter submitted his report, a sub-editor changed his report and the NLP published. The reporter won't have final say on what goes to print! It's nothing to do with ghost-writing, it's standard newspaper editing, to fit word-limits and space-constraints.
Again, Pilgrim86 why are so knowledgeable on EVERY subject I put on here? Truly you are the number one poster on this site. I thank you, once again, for your input.  :bunny

Check out the report of yesterday's game in today's NLP written by some twit from Leamington who still believes Steve Evans to be our manager. What a **** ! Makes you thankful that we have knowledgeable guys at our club like Craig Singleton and Ken Fox who know their facts from fiction.

Really? Not a 3-0 or even a 1-0 token victory? I bow to your obvious knowledge on Football Leagues. Most importantly, I'm glad you found my post on a Sub Level 7 Football League of some interest. Got the impression that you weren't really interested and weren't going to contribute to my postings anymore - silly me.

Lincolnshire League have made a decision in record time! They won't be recalculating the League for a 3rd time this season but have awarded Skegness Town a nil-nil victory (yes, that is just the 3 points and no change to the goal difference - its a unique thing they do in this League!) and also given the same to Ruston Sports for the game which was due to be played this coming weekend. The outcome is that Heckington Utd finish last in a League which they are technically no longer members of and that Skegness Town must win their last 2 remaining games to "win" the League ahead of Hykeham Town - unless something else changes in the next few days which, quite frankly, is a strong possibility!

The B-Ark / Lincolnshire League - the end is nigh!
« on: April 12, 2014, 10:50:52 PM »
Just when you think that the Sills & Betteridge Lincolnshire League could not get any worse (well, you probably could!), Heckington United have, yesterday, become the 3rd team to leave the League since the start of the season - and that with only 3 games to go! Another points re-calculation should be forthcoming (hopefully by the end of this week!) and who knows who will be League leaders - Hykeham, Skeggy Town, our Reserves or even the League Committee's apparent "model club", Gainsborough Town? Just hope that BUFC Reserves seriously consider their option to continue in this appalling competition next season. Weak match officials, a Committee which appears to fail in its duty to sufficiently punish offending sides and a fixture list which cannot be relied upon are all good reasons to leave this League at its AGM. It is ironic that this League is sponsored by a firm of solicitors as it is quite noticeable that little justice is being shown to the majority of its Clubs who have competed in the spirit of the game, for this season at least.

For those experiencing these internet problems, you've probably downloaded a dodgy Malware programme. If you are using Internet Explorer you will need to re-set this by going on Tools - Internet Options - Advanced and Restore Advanced Settings. You will then need to delete Temp Internet Files, Cookies and History by going on Tools - Internet Options - Delete (Browsing History). Make sure you don't delete passwords etc! Then on your Computer you will need to delete any recently installed programmes which you are not sure about - Malware is a big problem. Go to your - Control Panel - Programs - Uninstall a Program. You may need to restart your Computer. Cannot guarantee this will work and there may be other issues which may arise after you have deleted the malware such as Norton may need re-installing. Took me 4 hours to wipe it out but worth it!! Change you passwords if you can asap thereafter. Best of luck!

Just found out that Gainsborough Town have been awarded the Sills & Betteridge Lincolnshire League Team of the Month for March!! Yes, they may have won 4 games but were also found guilty last week of forcing a match to be Abandoned through refusal to leave the pitch! Talk about rewarding offenders, the League Committee are giving the impression that they have completely lost touch with what is right and wrong!! Something is just not 100% and I feel that it is time for resignations to be asked for by member clubs' representatives at the League AGM.
Right now, the Lincs League does not deserve the membership of our Reserves or, likewise, decent respectable clubs like Skegness Town, Horncastle Town, etc. It will be up to BUFC to make a decision on this, but unless the Lincs League can give guarantees in changing the direction it is currently steering towards, which at the moment is possible dormancy, sadly I think we must seriously consider playing in another competition next season. It is a shame that it has been ruined, as this League is ideal as far as location goes.

The B-Ark / Lunacy of the Lincolnshire League!
« on: March 29, 2014, 12:30:47 PM »
The Lincolnshire League have given an incentive to teams if they are losing and have little chance of getting back into the match! The answer is - just walk off the pitch!
The Committee decided, 7 weeks after it had been played, to award the abandoned Skegness Town v Gainsborough Town to Skeggy after Gainsborough forced the match to be Abandoned whilst losing 1-0.
Whilst the Lincs League correctly gave Skegness the 3 points from the match they made no increase in their goal difference - neither giving it as a token 1-0 or the more conventional token 3-0 win!
Gainsborough likewise received no points (or any deduction) and no change to their goal difference either! In this crazy world, the team from the Trent actually ended better off by a single goal difference in forcing the game to be called off after 79 mins rather than seeing it out as a 1-0 defeat after 90mins!
Can anyone explain the logic of this? Sadly, these crass decisions, bring the whole League into disrepute.

Hi Neil!
Agree that Keiron Elliott is a brilliant young player and captain and will go and play at a higher level. He should get his chance in the first team if he sticks around for next season. Likewise Charlie Ward and "Mario" are promising youngsters and Andy Hewitt is by a long way the best keeper in the Lincolnshire League. Joby Gowshall is rolling back the years and showing why he was a former player of the year. Young Nuttall and Charlie Sanders both cut their cloth in the Reserves as did Tom Ward a few years back.
On this evidence alone, it is essential that BUFC retain a Reserve team in whatever League they play in.

I'll just sit back now and await the usual suspects (any guesses who they will be - lol?) to counter that argument!  :bunny

"Contributors" like KoN are just plain out of order if he is suggesting that the BUFC Reserves "thread" is put "elsewhere".
Are you a tabloid journalist? You seem to sensationalise anything you don't agree with. You also seem to be quoting phrases that nobody has said!

You have your views, and other people who have posted in this thread have theirs too - can you not respect that? Not everybody has to agree with you!
Pilgrim86. You are an intelligent guy and I welcome the banter with you on Patter (even your tedious stuff)!  :bunny
