My first post was actually in jest and i hope he turns out to be a top player. I just hope we are not signing mates sons.We had young players on loan last season who were technically good but in my opinion fell short physically and mentally in a tough "mans " league. This season will be tougher in my opinion. Im a glass half full type but am starting to worry  about next season and just hope we can sign Spencer again otherwise it may be an anticlimax to what was started two years ago

Who remembers the clown at Alfreton at the final whistle. Standing on the otherside of the cage wanting to fight everyone. one man v about 400 with his wife or girlfriend standing there waiting for him to finish looking quite perplexed by it all. what a knob ;D

I think if a bigger club had come in for him he would of gone to them. I think Grimsby are the biggest club in for him. The scouts that everyone seems to think came and watched him over last season obviously didnt rate him highly enough to take a chance. He stated that it was a choice between two clubs, Cambridge probably being the other one so Grimsby it is then. Hes going to have to relocate so moving home didnt stop him going to a bigger club in the North or South. Hes been fanstastic for us for two seasons so good luck with him fulfilling his dream of becoming a pro- footballer.

Just read his interview on the o/s. Wish him well in the teaching profession and his football. Shame we didnt see more of him, i thought he was class. I hope we dont miss a trick here Loughborough have some outstanding football talent we should be tapping into. The managers should be onto murph and churchy before they leave to recommend anyone they feel is worth a trial.

Voted for by the managers so perhaps a bad reflection on our managers behavior  (or one of them) towards them sometimes maybe. Think Scotty got a bit of a reputation with his foul mouth sometimes (couldnot believe what i was hearing when he abused Little about his goatee on the touchline  :D). No reflection on Lee & Canners by the way, their behavior has been first class.

My main concern when i posted that was if sleathy is going to be missing for three weeks or so we need someone to cover that position for the period hes gone. If it is true then good luck to him. To represent GB at anything is a fantastic achievement for anyone personally, but also for our club. Well done sleathy

I would stack it all on Grimsby if i was a betting man. Sheff utd too big a step at this present time for him imo.

The B-Ark / Danny Sleaths Going

To CHINA in August according to cullys twitter page. Putting on my detectives hat while the wifes walking the dog (well its raining, someones got to do it love  ;D). I find that the World Student Games are taking place in China in August and Team GB are sending a football squad to take part. They held trials at Warwick Uni and a squad has been selected with a one week training camp in Sweden coming up. As cully said he (sleath) is going to miss three weeks at the start of the season.I am sure thats cully in one of the photos taken at the trials so there maybe some actual truth in one of his tweets for once. Any chance our local journos getting on the case to find out if its true or not.
Cully also said sleathy wants to join him at Eastwood so it could be just another windup.

Its all relative to the standard (level) at which players play. You would expect players at the top level to have all the attributes to their game, hence large transfer fees for their services. Further down the pyramid players have not got " all the strings on the bow" so as fans allowances have to be made. We are also not paying Premier league entrance fees so why expect premier league performances. If our players could pass, shoot , head , score, and motor around for 90 mins they wouldnt be our players for long, because of the level we are playing at, teams higher up would buy them or poach them.
Football has a high turnover of managers. They live and die by their selections, transfers etc. Football is a game of opinions, i have never seen a player being sacked halfway through a season for being sh$te in the higher leagues. Players are  released at the end of the season, its the manager that gets the bullet during it. Its a case of "cutting our cloth accordinly" working within a budget and trying to pick a gem from under the noses of our rivals. If a team or chairman wishes to fund big wages then good luck to them. It just makes me laugh louder when it doesnt work. Everyone must be slightly envious of Man Citys millions.  People say the hearts gone out of that club ,no local players etc. How many local lads in our first team?, so it happens at all levels. One last thing as DDs been mentioned i bet he would have scored the chance Darren Bent missed at Wembley in the last minute on saturday. ;D

Absolutely gutted to see him go. Hes only been here for two seasons , but they have been the most enjoyable for years, and hes been at the heart of it. I think we all knew after watching his interview after the playoff game this was coming.
Looks like Murphs leaving too , another massive loss. Thanks to  you both for giving everthing for our great club, and i wish you all the best for the future .
