Its all relative to the standard (level) at which players play. You would expect players at the top level to have all the attributes to their game, hence large transfer fees for their services. Further down the pyramid players have not got " all the strings on the bow" so as fans allowances have to be made. We are also not paying Premier league entrance fees so why expect premier league performances. If our players could pass, shoot , head , score, and motor around for 90 mins they wouldnt be our players for long, because of the level we are playing at, teams higher up would buy them or poach them.
Football has a high turnover of managers. They live and die by their selections, transfers etc. Football is a game of opinions, i have never seen a player being sacked halfway through a season for being sh$te in the higher leagues. Players are released at the end of the season, its the manager that gets the bullet during it. Its a case of "cutting our cloth accordinly" working within a budget and trying to pick a gem from under the noses of our rivals. If a team or chairman wishes to fund big wages then good luck to them. It just makes me laugh louder when it doesnt work. Everyone must be slightly envious of Man Citys millions. People say the hearts gone out of that club ,no local players etc. How many local lads in our first team?, so it happens at all levels. One last thing as DDs been mentioned i bet he would have scored the chance Darren Bent missed at Wembley in the last minute on saturday.
