Ive got it you two are on a wind up . LCB you should not say your vote for player of the year last season went to a player who you now say sits in front of the back four and kicks people. I will forgive your memory lapses or do you like watching Stoke or Bolton. Perhaps the managers better tell him to stop popping up in the opposition box and tapping the ball in , because hes clearly out of position

« on: September 29, 2010, 10:31:20 PM »well i think cully and davies are only good for putting on for 10-20 minutes at the end of a game. cully lacks the pace and sometimes looks like he makes the wrong decisions when passing, he seems to play TOO safe when we are wanting to go forwards when options are there for him. As for davies hes just a more foul giving churchy. doesnt go with the right options. i really hope they do prove their worth but at the minute they seem almost like extra weight which we could get rid of and have something more effective instead
You have to understand the club has the same budget as last year (we are lead to believe) the club is asking the players to perform at a higher standard for the same wage. Its plainly obvious some players performances are going to be more eratic this season, moreover this makes team selection more important. The cup game saturday was lost in team selection, so the managers must take the blame. Almost all agree that if the side that pulled the two goals back had started we probably would have won.
As for your comments about Cully if you think hes slow then what about the 5 or 6 slower in the team. Davies the same as Churchy, you really have no idea.

With us both being knocked out of th FA Cup who thinks its common sense to bring the Boxing day game forward to the empty saturday coming up. Reason being some of our players have young families, as do the managers. The players at uni will be at home spread across the country at xmas. They dont earn enough to warrant being asked to play at this time of year. Its a time to watch the 50 grand a week show ponies run around from the warmth of the fireside armchair or the Ashes. Anyone think the same? ps i dont think the attendance will be much different. Boxing day or the New years day game will do.

On the serious subject of the the managers contracts, theres not alot the club can do if the managers are attracting attention from clubs from a similar or higher division. Like most of our young players who all express a desire to work and play at the highest level possible the managers must feel the same. We all have a hidden selfishness by wanting them to stay, but what right have we got to stand in their way to better themselves in a higher division. Say Gainsborough sack their manager, then offer our managers a bigger budget to work with and a higher salary ( lets face it we all work for one reason only. to earn the money to pay the bills) why should we stand in their way. Same for any player whos got a chance to earn more for doing the same job ie, 90 mins of football twice a week. Football has no loyalty, clubs cannot have it both ways. One year contracts that includes not paying the players through the summer. lets enjoy the moment because it will too soon be gone.

THOUGHT WE LET THEM OFF THE HOOK TODAY. A VERY SCRAPPY GAME, DEFENCES ON TOP AND NOT TOO MANY CHANCES BUT LATE ON WE SHOULD HAVE NICKED IT. NOTICED MORE THAN USUAL PETTY ARGUMENTS AMONGST OUR PLAYERS ALSO TODAY. BIG DANNY WAS FRUSTRATING ME NO-END WITH THE AMOUNT OF FOULS HE CONCEEDED, ALSO IF HE KEEPS GIVING AWAY FOULS AT OUR SET PIECES WHY DOESNT HE JUST RUN HIS MARKER OUT THE WAY . EX- DANNY RUNS HIS MARKER TO THE NEAR POST, BALL PLAYED TO BACK POST,NO FOUL SIMPLE. WE SEEM A BIT ONE DIMENIONAL AT SET PIECES. YATESY AND SEMPS NOT ON THEIR GAME TODAY. MIDDLE TWO OK BUT SLEATHY LACKING CONFIDENCE. MAC MADE A GREAT DOUBLE SAVE THEIR GOALIE PULLED OFF A GREAT SAVE FROM SWD, HOW DID CANNERS MISS FROM 5 YARDS OUT, WE SHOULD HAVE WON AFTER NOT PLAYING THAT WELL. LAST THOUGHT ANYONE THINK THEIR CENTER FORWARD LOOKED LIKE A FAT ROBBIE WILLIAMS
