Looks like a joke of a website where people basically write any old shit for clicks.

That said, I'd be surprised if there wasn't interest from somewhere - he's clearly a great player, but the clubs mentioned? Really? That's one hell of a step up.

When does the lease expire again?

Wonder what the landowners have planned for the site? Some dismal new build apartments or something, probably.

Not exactly surprising news, but still disappointing.

"The club is bankrupt basically, it's got no money, no assets."

And that's the most important (and sobering) quote from that story: a candid assessment of the club's stature none of us really want to hear. If Newton manages to pull this off it will be a impressive achievement by any measure, but obviously with such a massive funding gap, and with all manner of unknowns and potential pitfalls that can derail a project of this scale, I won't sleep easy until the last brick is in place, the last lick of paint has been, er, licked, and John Blackwell's shiny new ticket office is open for business.

And as for that missing £2m, if only we had a supporter who had recently won a fecking gigantic Euromillions rollover jackpot... COUGH COUGH...!

From Newton himself.

2 of the grants we have applied for we will not be getting leaving a funding gap of a few million but he is positive that this funding will be in place in time for the mass roadworks towards the end of this year to start

Funding gap of a few million?

A few questions BUFC fans might want answers to

How much is the ground costing?
Where will funding come from if grants not available
Will "Investors" own the new stadium
Is there a plan B

Despite the previous hostile reply, all valid questions. With any luck, there'll be a forum in the Autumn when these can be put directly to the board.

If I recall correctly, I believe the stadium will be transferred to a community interest type company, won't it? It won't be owned by 'investors'.

Can't say I'm unduly concerned about it all going tits up, but the longer it drags on, the more keen everyone is to see spades in the ground, especially with the lease running down. Newton's a very patient bloke though, and likes doing stuff properly. I'm sure it's all gone quiet for good reason.

The winner looks even softer on the highlights.

So bloody frustrating!

Decent game that ebbed and flowed, but can't really argue that on the balance of play Stockport just about deserved to win. That said, I'm disappointed we lost to such a poor goal (from our point of view) - I'd have hoped Ravas could have saved that.

Had it not been for that "stunner", we may well have held out for a draw, although we'd certainly have ridden our luck on the way, especially the Ledsham miss. Boston weren't really in the game until Den made a couple of quick subs in the second half, and then suddenly we sprang into life. I'm a bit of a tactical numpty though, so I couldn't tell if he changed the system, but whatever he did, it worked.

when all funding is secured.

This is the bit that concerns me. Be nice to have an update on that front when the club is able to give one.

He might have heard it from someone else, who heard it from someone else....

You know how these things work, Mel!

I'm relieved actually - I know there are concerns about JB's fitness, but I think if he can get fit we'd be daft to turn down the chance to work with someone that experienced, so I was worried when I read that.

Of course, you may remind me I said this when he's being sat on his arse by a Solihull winger for their 5th goal.

Told at the game tonight that Bennett got changed and stormed off home when told he would be a sub tonight, If this is true best find out now rather than later. Enjoyed tonights game a great and entertaining work out with some good goals, Thought our number 4 from BPA looked very good in mid field alongside Dixon. All in all good stuff that must have pleased Dennis and given him an idea of the make up of our squad for this season.

Not true. You can't storm off from a ground you never even arrived at!

I think we're simply more aware of it now and, yes, these incidents are reported more.

It's astonishing, and tragic, to think that around 12 people under the age of 35 die of undetected heart conditions in this country every WEEK.
