The B-Ark / Pre-season friendly: Lincoln City (H)
« on: July 08, 2021, 11:23:33 AM »
So with this match being designated a test event, it looks like for segregated matches away fans will indeed be given the entire east stand.

No food/drinks in the concourses which is a shame as I wanted to scout out what they were going to be offering throughout the season.

General ticket sales commence 5pm tomorrow.

The B-Ark / Pre-season friendly: Matlock (A)
« on: July 06, 2021, 11:56:05 AM »
Big game this! Well, it is for me personally as it'll be the first live game of football I've attended since the win over York in February 2020! Which is absolutely surreal.

Anyone else making the trip across for it? If so, bear in mind EMR recently stopped the Nottingham-Matlock through service so you'll need to change in Derby.

The B-Ark / Ellenders

Formally open to the public tonight after its "VIP" test event on Monday! First time the general public have been allowed anywhere near the new stadium, so a bit of a momentous day for the club really. Hope it all goes well and those there tonight have a good time.

The B-Ark / Season cancelled?
« on: January 19, 2021, 12:38:53 PM »
Reports in The Atheltic today that a majority of clubs in the National League and NLN and NLS are in favour of ending the season now due to the fact the next raft of funding will be in the form of loans rather than grants. This simply isn't what clubs thought they were signing up to when they agreed to start the season in the Autumn.

This will, obviously, be a devastating blow, not least because we really look like being in with a shout of promotion this season! The National League board are meeting today and then having meetings with individual clubs tomorrow. The problem is that it would surely be impossible to end the season on PPG because there is a massive disparity between the number of games clubs have played, so if the season is ended now it would surely have to be voided?

Either way - a disaster.

The B-Ark / New away kit

Straight in at number one as my favourite ever away kit. Absolutely love it.

The B-Ark / Season over
« on: March 25, 2020, 12:06:52 PM »
Looks like the National League have voted to end the season, with the only remaining decision now whether to void the season or go with some other method (points per game?) of determining final league places for promotion/relegation. None of the methods mooted would elevate us into second, so that's that: another year of National League North!

Shame, it had been such a great/memorable season up to this point. But I'm not sure there was really any realistic prospect of the NL completing this season, unfortunately.

The B-Ark / Dayle Southwell
« on: December 05, 2019, 02:47:09 PM »
The way Richard Boryszczuk is tweeting I think we can safely assume this one is a done deal - only remains to see how long we've got him.

Wonder if there'll be any other outgoings to accommodate him? Would seem a bit daft to move Tuton on with Southwell cup tied.

The B-Ark / Leamington (H)

Last league game under the lights? Let's be honest, it's unlikely, but still a special one not to be missed. Retro programme looks the business again.

Interesting to see if Knowles is back, and especially if Tom Clare's involved at all.

The B-Ark / Alfreton (A)

Hopping over on the train tonight for this. Hoping to see a better game than Saturday's pretty tedious affair, but I can see it being a bit of scrappy one! It'll be interesting to see what involvement Knowles has tonight...

The B-Ark / Jake Wright
« on: July 26, 2019, 12:43:35 PM »
... joins on loan from York. Decent - but did we really need him?

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for competition for places, but there's clearly no room to accomodate all these strikers and keep them all happy. This isn't a bad thing in the short term as there's certainly going to be competition for spots in the first XI, at least for the first couple of months, but I can see one or two early departures.

The B-Ark / Friendly: Worksop (a)
« on: July 15, 2019, 04:03:04 PM »
Anyone else making the trip over to Worksop tonight? I tend to avoid most pre-season games, but this is relatively local for me so hitching a lift there. Looking forward to seeing Trialist A thru F in action.

The B-Ark / Early odds
« on: June 05, 2019, 05:46:27 PM »
I see Craig's tipped York to to one of the front runners this season - and he's backed up by early odds from BetVictor who have York as favourites.

Both sets of NLN predictions I've seen so far have us firmly in the mediocre slush pile - which is a little different to last season. Low expectations may actually help us, potentially?

Still. A long way to August yet... a lot can change.

The B-Ark / Signing number two...

Thewlis - widely expected anyway.

The B-Ark / George Willis / Ken Fox
« on: April 22, 2019, 06:25:54 PM »
Sums up our season that our goalkeeper argues with Boston fans shortly before going on to pretty much sweep up at the post-match awards! Anyone know why the fans were having a pop at him?

Also, well done to Ken for his award! Richly deserved.
