The Twitter feed is quite hilarious.  The guy is going after a few folk for a few quid when old news articles about him hardly sets up a pious backdrop......

What new ground, it was never going to be built according to some fans, and now it's never going to be finished, according to those same fans again.
I had one guy at work the other day say that Newton had run out of money and now wanted the fans to finish paying for the ground.
But he is a Posh fan, so probably feeling a little jealous that we are getting a new ground, and he is going to have to keep going to the sh#t hole on London road.

Perhaps you ought to discuss this with the above poster called youngchubby69?

Rochdale's website are saying that they will receive £12,500 from the BBC - do we get a similar amount?

I think he is very good at getting management jobs and then getting sacked and picking up a big fat pay off .
You can never financially loose when managing at his level.

A little unfair, I can’t think of many managers who have seen 7 teams promoted?

On 29/2/2020 we are due to play Farsley Celtic at home.

What was the score the last time we played a home game on the 29th February?

Away, and they are in form

In a league below us :-)  Our easiest route to the 1st round we've ever had for quite a while.

Once the lump Cresswell was removed they looked a far better team.

I was talking to a couple of their fans in the bar afterwards and ther opening line was saying "they were never going to win anything with that plank playing up front".  The youngster who was a bit of a live wire for them going forward was apparently sold to Port Vale and has been loaned back until Janaury.

That was a while ago David!  25th November 2005 to be precise - I don't remember the date of the meeting, I just recall that we were setting things up when the news of George Best's death broke and we started the meeting with a fitting tribute.

The issue of clubs getting into difficulty should be addressed by the respective leagues.  One start would be the mandation of an independent account for each club to deposit the relevant taxation payments into on a monthly basis.  Most of those in trouble seem to use HMRC as an unauthorised overdraft facility.

I would not wish total demise on any club.

I thought we got a soft penalty, and after watching the replay I stand by my view.  I will have to remember this when we get turned down for a "stonewaller" ;D ;D

Like the one about 5 minutes later..........

As previously stated by plenty on here; the Linos could get involved a lot more to help Refs.

It almost seems as though they are told not to make such calls at times - most of them even look to the ref before they give a throw-in?

There has to be the occasional fresh teams emerge - otherwise we'd end up with a complete stalemate and a product much like the current Formula 1 set up where interest is waning fast.

In the same way that every squad needs competition to improve performance, so do clubs.  It is very sad when a club goes under, especially considering that the club in question is somebody's club much like BUFC is ours  But, for the new blood to emerge, the dead wood has to go......and there has been some very dead wood floating around of late.

Quite a few have made a sustained leap in recent years and we now take their status for granted - Bournemouth, Burton, Stevenage etc.  Similarily, a few have gone the opposite direction - Darlington, Torquay etc.  Change happens and can only be good for the game......otherwise we'd have no need for promotion and relegation?
