The B-Ark / Re: Boston United target three more summer signings

Odd that he says they want 3 new players, has spoken to 3 "young hungry" Redditch players but says the squad needs more experience....

I can't believe how boring this site has become. I used to enjoy coming onto Pilgrims Patter but now it seems every thread degenerates into a bitching session between the doom merchants and happy clappers.

It doesn't really bother me. I don't support the club anymore - just follow from a distance. But for those for whom it is a realpassion, which is most of you I think, this site is a real buzz kill. Healthy debate is great but what is happening here is terminally dull. Can't you find a way to draw a line under it? For the sake of this once great Forum I hope you can.

I know you've all condemned him but I'd like to see Constantine given a run with SWD. You don't score 88 league goals by being useless - maybe he just needs some games to find his feet/fitness. JL could certainly do with dropping to the bench and Newsham has had all season and failed to score enough goals.

Craig has just tweeted this so could be true..

Currently watching the first team train. John Blackwell is do-do-doing the paperwork for a new signing. #BSBN

You do have do wonder if this proves to be correct, why we've had to sit through 6 months of people who clearly weren't up to the job like Stones, Joachim [pre-season] Suarez and all the young loanees only to arrive back at the striker we had in the first place!

Not sure if he has been injured or what but he doesn't seem to have played for them for a while and has only scored one goal for them this season in a league that contains the might of the Met Police and our old friends Wealdstone. Interesting to see who has been playing up front for them though: a certain Albert Jarrett, who I thought would have ended up higher up the pyramid than that!

If the Lees were top of the league by ten points you wouldn't mention a thing.

DL

What a ridiculous post. If we were Man City we'd be top of the premier league. If we were Barcelona we'd be the best team in the world. If Boston were top of the league of course people wouldn't be mentioning the two lees. But we're not are we?  :dan

Do you think this is the striker the managers have been talking about for a couple of weeks ? I thought it might be someone more high profile / prolific ?

DL

Me too - don't get why all the hype and build-up for some untried kid...guess the real target must have turned us down?!  ???

Of course mugging an old lady is disgusting. But just because one Polish person did it, they're all scum???  ::)

Perhaps the thread title is misleading.  But the the Pole that did it certainly fits the title well and for that I make no excuses.

It's not just the thread title is it? You also said: "I have always said give them a chance, but I now think differently."

That infers that you're tarring all the Poles with the same brush.

Look, anyone who mugs an old lady is scum. There's no need to bring his Polish nationality into it. By that reckoning, there's plenty of 'English scum' running amok on the streets each and every day.

You said the Poles should be sent back. Well, where do we send the English scum???

Not sure why the managers are being critisized for trying to bring new strikers in. It's obvious this is the area that needs work/strengthening, if they did nothing people would be crying out for new signings, if they do it's a revolving door.

Spot on. Yes, it looks like a bit of a scattergun approach but at least they're doing something.

I don't think anyone's suggesting the bank should be broken. We know we must live within our means. What is in dispute is whether these managers have it in them to use those means wisely. Early evidence suggests not.

Sorry but WTF? This is football. It's where people go to relieve the stresses of the working week. Shouting, singing and swearing has been part of the terrace culture since the game began. Next you'll be trying to ban pies at half-time...
