The B-Ark / Sportsmans Dinner
« on: November 14, 2009, 10:07:56 AM »
Just a quick line to say well done Craig and Chris for Thursday night, good atmosphere, Sharpey and comedian great. For the first time in the Lounge thought it was spot on, as Boston West as a venue is tough to beat.

Perhaps a couple of things can be improved very slightly but taking nothing away from the night. Many thanks.

Miles was at FC look quality but the step up not sure, a little lightweight for our league, Spayne rd would slaughter him.

Jim Dick, quality kicked punched, and could make a pass, and got most teams down to ten men.

Fair point same at comedy night perhaps Chris can look at this, race from work , without tea or relaxing, wanting a couple of beers and decided not to, not a critiscism but as I have said before short period to make money for the club, so perhaps remind the guys/girls behind the bar

Really enjoyed the game.

However as I have always been a centre forward who thrives on certain things, the manager should stand on DD in the warm up as when fired up came to life.

Worksop got it wrong winding the gentle giant up as in the first half didnt win a header or tackle, second half got him wound up and different player.

Well done boys.

Still feel we need a giant in midfield, but welldone to the fans for applauding the boys off confidence breads confidence.

Chris 3 out of 4 were good, ok atmosphere.Agree with earlier comments just move tables away from the bar, as naturally people head there to sit which thins out the crowd, but ok night for me.

Just look at some of our stewards, you can understand why at times we get slaughtered verbally, no idea they would rather talk to their girlfreinds and each other and why do we need four stewards at the townend staring at the home fans, doesnt stack up a little like their IQ levels.

Harsh result.Realised why Ellie wasnt re-signed slow, acted like a bouncer continually off the ball raising his forarm into players faces at corners etc, shame the ref was out his league.

Before I get hes a legend, yes he is but now hes past it.

Not to downbeat we will come good, just need two/three players who can mix it as and when the game requires it.

Great support.

Thats good news Chris , a crowd of us are going to the comedy night, and I went in the lounge last week and I know its been covered before but a great job has been done on the place. But to maximise turnover on a very small time period they have to cover the dance floor over before games, so many walked in and straight out as there was simply no way to get in, and thats in the good weather and there were loads outside.

I would hate the club to miss an opportunity especially with food now on the agenda, and as we all know a crowd draws a crowd and the more people that pop in now will help with Sat night gigs, especially the wifes/girlfriends who quite simply would not go in there because of the toilets.

Anyway great to see it doing well.

Chris,

Regarding the comedy night any ideas what to expect?

For years a crowd of us have gone to the comedy club at Blackfriars but they have just stopped for no apparent reason.

Are these comedians likely to be old school or alternative style ?

Many thanks

The B-Ark / Re: vs. Frickley

My first visit to Frickley. For anyone who knocks York Street facilities take a little trip up North and see the real world of stadiums in this league, the car park was a nightmare leaving no lights and down almost a slope.

The away support great and out of a crowd of 338 I think near on 250 were from Boston, and spot on no moaners or slagging our team off.

As for the game not great the boys still gelling to be fair.Camm was quality Davidson when running at the back four was at his best, as Woady said a bit more composure in the last third probably a four/five nil result on the cards.

Cotton looked dangerous when he had the ball. All in all a good night out for all.

Well I hope its Spalding.Went to watch them last night against Boston Town, which Town won fairly easily in the end and played some outstanding stuff all on the floor.Spalding despite being a league higher look poor.
