We were about top of it last year. Then we signed Paul Ellender.

Was right in line with that - woeful, woeful decision. Nothing within two feet of him when he went down.

What is the difference between a footballer and a rugby player ? Not a joke but a real question. Is it the type of person. Perhaps the question should be , what is the difference between rugby and football?. Does the amount of money involved in football mean that a team must win at any cost or that the player is so greedy that he will do anything to get wealthy. My personal view on this is that the main difference is DISCIPLINE entertainment.

He cheated, he may well get punished. I don't think him or Wenger can have too many complaints.

The problem will come from UEFA if/ when Ronaldo or whoever else does it in the main competition. They've sent out a message saying they're going to toughen up on diving, which, provided they do consistently, is great. I don't have much confidence that they will do so though.

Beginning the season with a broken leg? Combined with the old 'second season syndrome'?

Sort of situation where we could really do with a reserve team.

OK BUFC, surely it's time to stop nicking the bottle tops off the diet Pepsi when I purchase from the snack bar. I don't know any other Club in the country that still does this. I've recently visited Championship grounds where this archaic practice was outlawed years ago.

On a hot day like Saturday it just means a flat drink after 30 minutes - not to mention knocking it over spillage.

How do we put a stop to this ? I mean, I could just shove a bottle down my jeans and walk in with it anyway.

DL

Agreed!

I was being sarcastic about the ODers, just to clarify. In fact, I'd almost forgot they still play that format.

To be fair he comes across as a decent enough bloke - he didn't force Scott/Hurst to take him with his get out clause - but I think he'll realise in the end that he would've been better off with us.

Wow, that Clark 'bat'-pad is up there with the Trundle penalty for the worst decision I've seen in sport. North's was a bad'un as well. With Watson's two lives and Strauss and Bell both falling off uncalled no-balls, the Aussies have still had the rub of the green from the umpires in this match - they've been sensationally poor.

Notts bowlers = doing the business.

But with the forecast good, and the Aussies having to bat last on this pitch, it's actually hard to envisage any sequence of events which would see England not winning this Test.  Wow.

Considering that Durham apparently have a bit of money, SPS look pretty handy.

Cullingworth is 100% awesome. Fact.

He's got to be a frontrunner for World Player of the Year this season.
