The B-Ark / Re: FACT....we just aint good enough....
« on: October 26, 2014, 08:42:36 PM »
I remember Jason Lee being sacked due to a loss in the FA Cup against Altincham big crowd and atmosphere. Two shocking decisions for sending offs by the ref who the week after gave a ghost penalty at Man CIty the week after. A manager whose been their done it a higher level bought high standards a dress code and all the staff loved him where has all that gone are we any better off every player ate together and shook the big mans hand before leaving in their tie.  Now all managers have their own style which is great however the posts of we cannot change now seems a little without substance. Just my opinion I hope we turn it round with Dg.

Carl at the football dinner in a few weeks ill get a few of the lads to ask to ladies behind the bar the same thing. Will that be acceptable as banter. I'm not anti DG albeit the games this year are borderline boring its just I agree with Bostonshire the manager needs to set a higher standard and that isnt

Brad good post. My only gripe was the poor entertainment value. Against Oxford I was entertained I know we got thumped but could have had six ourselves. Saturday the tempo wasn't there, even our keeper as I mentioned before, walked to fetch the ball, at home the emphasis is to entertain the home fans so keeping a quick tempo is vital especially when losing.

Ross could easily hold his place, but as you often see a new manager likes his own type of player. Ross was a quality player who made things happen, not a workhorse as it wasn't his game, but with respect to the current lads made chances and scored goals. Another thing with Rossy came into the clubhouse win , lose or draw and have a chat in his BUFC tracky, this year jeans hoodies are the code or many don't either bother going in. Over the years since I was a kid supporting the club players always mixed, and chatted where has it all changed. Love him or hate him Jason Lee always went in with the players and set a standard, i just feel perhaps we need a bit of that all in here together back again.

Hate to say it, but awful. For a home team not to manage a shot at home against a mid table side isnt good enough. No atmsopshere, no drive. First half on several occassions Farman walked to the corner posts to fetch the ball , walked ,we are one down get on it , lets play no nothing, need questions answered was he told to slow down, if not whats going on. in his head. Two lads from County on the bench why, whats the formation, gates are going slowly down and will continue to do so we pay money to be entertained not watch  that im afraid.Sorry to be negative the only plus was the ref had a great game.

Fisrtly I would like to say how after a thrashing, the team were still applauded off albeit mutely, and Garns still led them off, a class act not afraid of the potential backlash but there was none, town end supported and sometimes ironically but did and loudly to the end, but finally and most would have missed this, probabaly the best part of seventy to hundred applauded Oxford off the field. That was fantastic, forget BUFC , Oxford were roasted 8-1 Sat yet performed as they did tonight so those that stayed behind to show their appreciation to a job well done that was pure class.

Over the last season or so we have won most of our home games and without doubt have been spoilt with success, so if we are going to lose a game so be it, and Oxford scored some great goals. So for me we move on.

However, we have a great young squad with potential but my concern is that depsite enthusiasm and flashes of potential we will not be in the mix, but tonight despite the result I feel we could have scored six or seven, first half post & bar twice, second half loads of scrambles, so not going to whinge or moan, thats football, rather Boston than Man U. Laters

Whilst it was a great result and effort and superb three points, ive never seen a  team dominate against us at home for years. If you were neutral you would think they were at home.

I just hope at home against lesser teams we will have more threat as we just didnt create apart from the second goal, last twenty seeing us just hoof into corners whilst understandable was not what id expect.

But great atmosphere, points and attitude from the players.Great start.

What I am surprised at is the lack of positive texts after such a positive council vote... I thought the forum would be buzzing..

School dinners, hot dogs and onions anyone....that's why we cannot possibly have a stadium in Wyberton so no no no to a school in the town center, traffic congestion and if kids need food West St has every food possible.   Sorry irony.

Both teams worked hard, and some good passages of play. But not sure where we are going to replace the goals from last year plenty of quality working situations but need the quality player upfront. Not knocking Garns great team player would play anywhere as hes that kind of guy, just need an out and out c/forward.

As for officials shocking, linesman offered with threats kids outside for a word and the ref winked at fans as he went down the tunnel, poor.

Anyway DG will know whats needed after seeing that, but I have to say well done Gboro and Dom Roma quality fullback and loyal could have played higher level and Stamp still has it.

Im not quite sure that hes a Rossy or Milnes works very hard but better than what we had I don't know.Just looks like a player that didn't cut it in trials and so come back. But good luck to him would have liked to see a power house in the middle. Need convincing somehow that we have a first eleven that can get us promoted.

Shame we dont have a reserves in some form, without them you never know if you can now unearth a gem of  a player under your nose, especially if non funded. Last year Vinno and Daubs did well and the previous season produced some decent lads who got on the bench, for two guys to give up their own time for free is credible.

Lets keep this real, the turnout was less than 20%. Which says that 80% were not concerned in the slightest. I can totally understand the no vote as i am sure no matter where this was proposed it would be more no votes than yes.

Secondly the banners saying no to the plans on roundabouts for me seem wrong as BUFC supporters we don't put banners supporting the planning. One banner was on the fence of the Endeavour Pub, which would benefit massively from the new planning, apparently that wasn't given the support of the brewery allegedly.

The vandalism which was reported, why would that be BUFC fans, the average age of fans being well over 30 perhaps, so have different priorities, that could have been anyone. Mr  Newton as always has been dignified by his silence and I am sure has done due diligence at considerable expense, whilst I applaud Sue Bell for her efforts  I am afraid she is not supported wholehearted, Boston needs new investment and infrastructure this is it.

If it doesn't happen life will go on but im sure we will miss, Altrincham away , Workington on a Tuesday, Hayes, BPA, Hull (Rubbish Club where are they now) , Swansea (Rubbish Club where are they now) Scarborough ( argh ) ,My club ,my town fingers crossed
