The B-Ark / Re: Beer in Hucknall?
« on: December 30, 2009, 02:03:03 PM »
Coming up from london for the game. Wondered if anyone is likely to be heading for a beer before or after the game? I'll be all on my lonesome   :(
I'm getting the tram in from Nottingham, arriving about 2ish. Meeting somebody there, and then finding some sort of pub...

Anyone been in this one? http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/14/14765/Green_Dragon/Hucknall

The club may own the structures, but to install them at a new ground will require them to be fit for current building legislation, which they may well not be...

A lot of FC fans missed last year as the weather was freezing so presumed it would be off...but the match was played and most fans spoke very highly of the visit to Boston. On that i think you can expect a slightly bigger FC following (500+) this time, but the same result! ;)
We are certainly a better side than last year, and looking at the table, you're the opposite....

Nothing to appeal against. Two-footed and dangerous. If you have footage of the ones from their players that got away, that maybe be more worth it...

The Church 'handball' on the line hit his shoulder, definitely not a penalty. Agreed about Suarez, he takes all the stick from defenders but getting his goal and 3 points is a good enough prize.

Church deserved to go, taking the tackle on its merits. It was two-footed, and he lunged in. However, the one you mentioned also deserved a red, as did their number 11 just seconds before Church did go...

I think suspensions start on the 15th day after the sending off, so he should be available for the FCUM game. Millson should be back for cover...

Looking at the top scorers, in the last press release it has Ross Hannah (Matlock), Newsham and Anthony Robinson (King's Lynn) all tied on 13 league goals.

Robinson's goal are effectively all worthless now, and Hannah scored twice against King's Lynn... so Newsham is on his own on 13.

The B-Ark / Re: Let the King's Lynn fans in for free on Boxing Day

How about a scheme that lets the King's Lynn season ticket holders in for free on Boxing Day along with Shodfried & family as a thank you for his recent fundraising efforts and to stop him being "Mr Grumpy" over Christmas.  ;D

Its a great gesture by the club to the Lynn fans, lets hope its a gesture replicated to home fans in the not too distant future too.

Missed this in your haste to have a pop did you 'PILGRIM86'?

WHAT ABOUT SOME MODERATION ON THIS FORUM MR FOX AND THE MODERATORS?

IS THIS KIND OF PETTY ABUSE REALLY NECESSARY?

THERE'S 3 PAGES OF VALID ARGUMENTS WITHOUT RESORTING TO INSULTS, HOW ABOUT PULLING A FEW UP EH MODS?
I wasn't having a pop - no abusive words were used were they? You may have said it was a great gesture, but then you had to add something on the end, hoping it's replicated to home fans.

Do you really want it replicating? For us to lose our club, and go see another one for free?

I'm opposed to anyone getting in for free.

Cock ::)

Nice one, when all else fails let resort to insults. I was waiting to see who'd be the 1st, thanks for stepping up to the plate.

Merry Xmas.
You're also sticking one up the KL fans, by not agreeing to letting them in for free for ONE GAME, which just happens to be BOXING DAY, the day after Christmas Day itself.

You're always the first to bemoan anything that goes against the club, and then blame it on one certain individual, but the club have done something to be proud of, but you can't bring yourself round to congratulate them on the gesture.

Merry Christmas

How many season ticket holders do we have? 500?

Whats the average gate? 1150-1200?

So about 600+ people who pay every week.

What about starting a campaign for them to get in free too, its their money every week or so that keeps a steady flow of cash coming into the club.

My view is letting the KL fans in for free even as a one off is a slap in the face for those people who turn up every week and hand over their tenner to support football in the town. I'd be pretty pissed off I I was going every game and paying my way and the bloke who was stood next to me making a one off visit with no affinity to our club was getting in for nothing.

It's ONE game. If 200 of them turn up, it bumps our average up, and hopefully they'll be more inclined to buy a programme, a pie, a pint, etc.. extra money we wouldn't be getting. If 50 of them then turn up for more of our games, then that's more money for us.

The B-Ark / Re: Trip to Sheffield
« on: December 13, 2009, 07:28:27 PM »
I realise not many people will go, but the ground is right next to a good pub, the Coach and Horses. You can't see the game from there, but last time I was at Sheffield FC you could nip in at the interval for a swift half.

I read that the club bought the pub because they needed a ground and the pub had a football pitch next to it that it used to use for it's own pub team.

With the way the rent is going at York Street it sounds like a strategy that would work in Boston. Are there any pubs with attached football pitches in the Boston area?!  ;D
There's one I know of.. The Pilgrim Lounge, or something? ;)
