The B-Ark / Craig Elliott GONE
« on: January 04, 2022, 04:32:47 PM »

Quote
Boston United have regrettably parted company with first team manager Craig Elliott.

The 43-year-old leaves his role following Sunday's 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Alfreton Town.

The former Shaw Lane boss, who took over the United reigns in November 2017, memorably guided the Pilgrims to the second round of the FA Cup in 2019 and the National League North promotion final in 2020.

Elliott departs the Jakemans Community Stadium with the club's sincere thanks and best wishes for the future.

A further statement will be made in due course.

Was invited on a new stadium tour amongst a few others across the night, and I've put together a montage for those who have yet to see the insides.

The B-Ark / Play Offs - Loan players
« on: July 06, 2020, 11:56:41 AM »
Looks like we have our loaned out and loaned in players eligible for the play offs.

Walker and WIllis are back from Trinity, and Challoner, Nicholson, Ainge and Wright can all play for us. Wright can't play in a York v Boston final though.

I think Craig Elliott said he's working with a squad of 20, so who misses out from this list? Challoner and Nicholson aren't on it

The B-Ark / Pilgrim Pixels - Raising Money to support Boston United
« on: June 21, 2020, 05:35:51 PM »
PILGRIM PIXELS IS LIVE!

http://www.bostonunited.club

Buy a pixel for £1 each to reveal the new stadium photo, and support the club! The above image is the same one as shown on the website, so will update each day with new pixels purchased and removed.

Please only purchase an amount you can afford - this is not to replace the Building Together campaign, but to complement it to allow people to donate smaller amounts if they wish. You could name a brick or seat for just £1 spent!

For every £200 raised, we will purchase a brick or seat via Building Together (for £100), with 1 person being chosen at random from the 200 pixels to name this, and choose either a Fans/Memorial brick or seat. The remaining £100 will go to a bigger fund to buy larger items, such as goalposts (£1,500). I will evaluate at the end of July regarding an excess balance, and purchasing smaller items such as the £10 shrubs or £25 pitch sponsor.

There are also rewards being provided by local businesses, therefore at other milestones these will also be drawn - £250 (Games Central voucher), £500 (Sprinkles by Lucy prize) and £750 (Yellowbelly SUP prize). If you can help and provide a small prize, please get in touch!

We purchased our first Fans Wall brick today, with pixel purchaser Robert Sharman randomly chosen as the winner to choose the message

For a guide on how to purchase, please visit this webpage.

We are currently on £275 with purchases made up to 5pm 21/6/20 - I update the pixel picture once per day.

Thank you!

The B-Ark / Boston United on Football Manager 2020
« on: April 16, 2020, 09:43:52 PM »
I've started creating some online content using Football Manager 2020, all related to BUFC.

From today, I have begun an experiments series where I simulate different managers of The Pilgrims. Episode 1 is the "fair test", using Craig Elliott. You can watch this at the below link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0OBtgJC1pk

I'm looking to do a new video every 2-3 days - next up is Pep Guardiola!

Other plans for experiments are:
  • promoting us to the Premier League (with the current players/staff)
  • giving us perfect facilites (youth/training/corporate) and a transfer ban for over 18s
  • transforming David Newton into a Man City-esque tycoon owner

I've also started streaming the game, managing BUFC, live on Twitch - Tuesdays 7.45pm and Saturdays 3pm.

Thank you if you check any of my new stuff out, any comments/suggestions welcome!

The B-Ark / Season Suspended
« on: March 16, 2020, 06:14:47 PM »
https://www.bostonunited.co.uk/news/nln-season-suspended-2522501.html

At its board meeting on Friday, The National League decided to use its best endeavours to keep its season going in the face of unprecedented adversity.

However, with the current coronavirus (COVID-19) reaching global pandemic levels it has to accept that the situation is now out of its own control. In the knowledge of the government measures now announced including not to support sporting events with emergency services workers it is clearly not practical for its fixtures to be fulfilled in the immediate future.

In those circumstances and in line with The Football Association and the Professional Game, at a board meeting today, The National League has decided that its competition is now suspended until at least April 3, 2020.

The National League will continue to monitor the situation, but trusts that its loyal clubs, fans, players, officials, staff, volunteers and sponsors will accept that it has had no other choice but to reach this decision.

It wishes everybody connected with the competition and indeed the whole country a safe passage through these turbulent times.

The B-Ark / Conference North 2019/20
« on: May 19, 2019, 09:05:53 AM »
In comes Kettering Town, King's Lynn Town and Farsley Celtic from below, and Gloucester City and Oxford City from Conference South.

No teams relegated into our division.

Across town, visiting Tattershall Road this season are UCL newbies Anstey Nomads and Lutterworth Town (promoted) and moving from the Midland Premier are Loughborough Uni, Quorn and Shepshed Dynamo. Adds a bigger Leicestershire-feel to the UCL...

(These are provisional and subject to appeals, clubs folding, etc)
