I am going for a mirror result of the last time we played them away in the league.  Scunthorpe 2..0 Boston United. 4386
.A dodgy penalty and a ghost goal :(

A really committed performance. Well done to everyone. What’s the deal with their manager and assistant? They came out way too angry from the start. Unbelievable language too!
If you listen to the Joe Simpson post match interview, he mentions possible tensions over the past week. Could be something to do with that.

What a signing we have in Hazel.  He never stops running and can hold up the ball.  The lads did us proud yesterday, but taking the two wide players off nearly cost us.  Looking forward to the return match ( if there is one ).

Well done to the lads. For the first time this season I think we have a team that can challenge for a playoff spot. I am looking forward to the Boxing day Kings Lynn game. Billy Heath brought his usual anti football tactics ( thank goodness we have a football minded manager ). See I didn't mention the ref ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D.  : A big thank you to David and Nigel for the festive mince pies.  Also a mention to BUSA for their Christmas incentive. I would like to wish all on here a very merry Christmas.  Also a big thank you to Ken for running the best forum on the internet.

Personally I can’t find any sympathy for anything or anyone  at The Walks.
The Chairman thinks he’s a gangster and seems to have little sustained respect for any fan base. It’s always seemed to me  that it’s a case of how much he can take out of their pockets every chance he has.  And before anyone tells me how it’s the fans that suffer, well I’m sorry but I can’t sympathise there either.    A couple of years ago a section of so-called fans were p*ssing into pint glasses and then lobbing them into an away section where youngsters were stood with parents!   The stewards watched and turned away, allowing it to happen.    Would I lose a minute of sleep if they folded again?    100% not.

They should make a profit Boxing day with inflated prices. with also the worst viewing for away fans in the league.

A club that has folded before.  A chairman that allegedly is dodgier than last weeks reheated pork curry. A team struggling to move away from the relegation area. Very poor support and probably the worst stewards in the league.

Not a lot going for them i'm afraid, but I don't like to see a club go under.  So wish them well, but obviously not against us.

A good point away, looks a hard fought draw. Hopefully the injury to CG is not too bad.

I don't know Richard and can only speculate, but I wonder if him joining the board is in some way tied in with helping getting the South Stand underway? He could, for example, supply the club with a loan on the kind of favourable terms unavailable on the financial markets, which would mean Mr Newton's quote about "substantial funds" would remain accurate as whatever money came our way would ultimately be repayable? Unlike some of the more conspiracy-minded folk, I've little doubt Newton wants that south stand built asap - it would solve a lot of the gripes from fans in the East Stand in one fell swoop and make segregation far less complicated - plus we really could do with the additional income streams from the gym and sports hall.

I also do not know Richard. But whenever his name has ever come up in conversation, I have heard nothing but good things. I believe the first thing he did after winning the money was buy a mini bus for the old folks in Conningsby. A genuine guy by the sounds of it, welcome aboard.

The B-Ark / Re: Grounds visited
« on: December 06, 2023, 11:12:37 AM »
On another thread Andy Butler has visited 162 grounds.

Being retired, and having plenty of time on my hands, I tried to add up all the grounds I have visited.

I was surprised to find I am a long way short of Andy's total, 98 to be exact.

My total  64.

I have recounted and have a new total of 72. I had forgotten such major stadiums as Holbeach and Ely :D :D
