The B-Ark / Re: O/T boston crime stats
« on: July 24, 2012, 11:18:08 AM »
hi all

the debate about the impact of foreign nationals goes on and there will always be both positive and negative views of having them here

i've noticed on another thread there is differing views concerning a recent incident involving (allegedly) a foreign national so i've decided to begin recording the figures of all the court cases dealt with by boston magistrates and reported in the boston standard and/or the boston target

i will not be recording anyone who's been referred to lincoln crown court

so starting from last weeks papers (wednesday july 18th 2012)

there were 5 crimes committed by foreign nationals all of which were men
there were 4 crimes by locals/brits of which two were men and two were women

foreign crimes = 55.5%
locals crimes   = 45.5%
On the latest official figures it shows that Boston's population has increased by 15.8% since the 2001 census.  We all agree that the majority of this rise is by migrant workers.  So on the working out above 55.5% of crimes is being committed by 15.8% of the population of Boston.  I rest my case

The fact he was a not English is not the issue.  If he was a ginger haired dwarf with one eye that would be the description.  I was warning people that if this low life approached beware.

I do not want to drag up a racist type thread.  But this is relavent to this post.

GHM's mate who is recovering from a stroke was walking his dog when he was approached by a foreign national.

This low life offered to sell him a gold looking ring.  He refused and tried to walk away ( remember he is recovering from a stroke ).  He then produced a gold looking curb chain and proceded to put it around the man's neck.

He told him in no uncertain terms to remove it, which he did.

When he got home and looked in the mirror he saw this low life had taken his expensive 22 carot gold chain and substituded it with a worthless one.

This is not a racist thread but a warning to all not to be duped :(

Will anyone be awake to watch it?

Tonight's England/Italy match is the 16th of the tournament and we haven't seen a 0-0 yet, while I feel we are capable of getting a positive result here and progressing to the semis, at 6/1 with Ladbrokes the 0-0 bore draw over 90mins looks the bet tonight.

I agree ;)

John Beck has been appointed as Kettering's new manager on a two-year contract.

You have to feel sorry for the Kettering fans. First they were moved away from the town. Then they were demoted two divisions. And now they've got two years' worth of unattractive hoofball to look forward to.

A bit like us really :o

They deserve what they get, it was because of them that the 10 point reduction came into force.  It would be interesting, we have only been relegated once, the other two was for cheating not meeting league regs.

With all the help they gave us NOT, I hope they go belly up.  Sorry >:(

Brings back loads of memories, I see the Maypole.  Can anyone remember Home and Colonial stores, or Liptons near Woolies?  What about Johnny Cuthbert ( ex boxer ) who had the chippy down Wormgate, then went on to the Still before Albert Johnson.

He had a bubble gum machine outside, I remember he left the front off one day.  Me and my mates had "chewey" for weeks.  So if Tony is still alive, I had about 20 @ 1 old penny each so I owe you 10p with inflation would a quid do? :D

I bought my first telly from Wain & Sharp in the late 60's.

I also started work at Trenery's about the same time.

Wonderful memories of a lovely old, and unspoilt, town.

Very true, we had the state of the art MULTISIGNALS from Wain and Sharp.
