The B-Ark / Season ticket dilemma
« on: September 21, 2020, 08:53:11 AM »
I thought about upgrading to the west stand.  This presents several problems.  I have always stood with family and friends on the old Spayne road stand.  We have the full match day experience, pint in the club, plenty of banter and curry and chips at half time.

The trouble is, some of the group are non season ticket holders.  They can only make about 50% of the matches, due to working or being on call.  It looks like due to covid 19 restrictions, the only way to get a guaranteed entry is to buy one.  The other problem is, if we buy tickets for the West stand we cannot sit together.  We are not all in the same bubble.  So the other option is not to upgrade and stand in the north stand.  My old legs are not what they were, and I find it difficult to stand for the full 90 minutes.

The other problem being, the west stand will be bloody cold with a bitter easterly wind.

Dilemma sorted.  I will stand with my family and friends (observing social distancing of course ).

I can imagine some fans facing the same dilemma :D :D :D

The B-Ark / Best non league team.
« on: August 12, 2020, 08:37:53 AM »
I have just read Ken's excellent piece on York Street.  The stats are impressive.  It got me thinking.  Where do we come in the all time table of THE BEST non league clubs?  Taking into consideration overall achievements, standard of ground and average gate etc.  I think Yeovil must be up there, they always seemed to have a good cup run.  Gates were always good, and I think the ground was better than non league standard.  I know they are in the league, but for purpose of this thread, it's non league achievements only.  Spurs were the only non league team to win the FA cup ( my mate says last time they ever won anything.)

I would put us in the top 10 easy.

The B-Ark / Season Tickets
« on: August 04, 2020, 01:16:19 PM »
Due to knocking on a bit, I've decided this year to buy a season ticket for the main stand.  I have one or two questions, I wonder if any of you know the answers.  Having only ever had a standing ticket, can you tell me if season tickets are allocated by seat number?  If so my family and I would have to buy the tickets at the same time so we can sit together.

Other question concerns parking.  With limited parking I would think I would have to buy a permit.  Do you think these will be available inclusive when buying a season ticket?

My mate has just told me, Bury are applying for the National league next season.  He read in the paper.  Has anyone got the link? If that's the case, should they not be playing in a much lower league?

Can anyone remember who ran the original white lottery tickets in the late 50s early 60s? My father in law who's 90 was talking about it, but can't remember who ran it.

The B-Ark / Tonight's games
« on: March 03, 2020, 09:09:47 AM »
With the top teams in action tonight, and we having by far the toughest game.  We need some kind of result to keep up with the pace. It's not a must win game, but with our tougher run in anything from tonight is a bonus.

I hope lessons are learned from the Gateshead match. Good luck lads.
