The B-Ark / Low attendance
« on: January 19, 2019, 04:31:16 PM »
Just seen the official attendance figures for today. Only 860 home supporters, that's around 250 down on our averages for Saturday games.  Are people that dismayed with our football at the moment or is it just winter blues ? I worry that Mr Newton will be considering if all the Chestnuts hard work and investments are worth it if the fanbase continues to shrink without a shadow of doubt.

The B-Ark / Up to 4th
« on: October 13, 2018, 04:56:13 PM »
What a win, and how our fortunes change after just one game. From the feeling of going nowhere to now the feeling of a promotion push once more. Funny old game indeed ! Well done Pilgrims  ;D

What a massive win this was today, well done everyone. Let's hope this is the point of the season where we can push on from this one result.   ;D

The B-Ark / Season up and running
« on: August 08, 2017, 09:39:23 PM »
Great bounce back by the team tonight. Couldn't be there but tuned into Endeavour and it sounded like a good team performance. What's the fans views of tonight ?

The B-Ark / New Physio needed. Good luck Katie
« on: January 24, 2017, 04:34:03 PM »
So we're on the look out for a new physio it seems. Our long-serving sports therapist Katie Cooper has decided to concentrate on her work commitments, i would like to thank her for all her hard work over the years.  All the best Coops !

What do folks think about the attendance tonight ? Is 905 really that poor, considering that midweek evening kick offs have a history of much lower crowds, especially when a team is not on form.  Personally, i expected around the 900-950 mark tonight.
Previous stats from the last two seasons for home midweek games are as follows. ( Note festive games and afternoon kick offs will always attract more ) -

2015
H Tues 11th Aug  7.45pm    Solihull - Attendance: 1,140 (22 visitors).
H  Mon 31st Aug  3pm         Tamworth - Attendance: 1,187 (74 visitors).
H  Tues 10th Nov  7.45pm   Harrogate - Attendance: 1,074 (40 visitors).
H  Mon 28th Dec   3pm        Gainsborough - ( festive crowd ) - Attendance: 1,889 (86 visitors).

2016
H   Tue 16th Aug  7.45pm  Tamworth - Attendance: 965 (33 visitors).

The B-Ark / play offs - never in doubt
« on: April 30, 2016, 04:43:36 PM »
Well,  we have made it. In all honesty, was it really in doubt ?  We have a good manager, good backroom staff and a team that is a unit. Who remembers the talk at the end of September that were we more relegation than promotion, or at the end of November where so many were calling for the manager out ! I think now is the time that we all appreciate what we have, its a proud time to be a Pilgrim after all.  Well done lads and Den, awesome job. Now for the massive games.

P.S , Dayle must be worth £250,000 by now ! What a striker.

The B-Ark / Lifetime ban, well done BUFC
« on: March 08, 2016, 03:05:05 PM »
I see the person that shouted racist abuse has got a lifetime ban. Well done to BUFC for showing that this sort of behavior should not, and will not, be tolerated.  Its people like this that continue to give football fans a bad name up and down the country. One thing i will also add, its just a pity he wasn't named and shamed for the racist that he is !  So, lets move on now as a club, with no more reports of abuse, or as last weekend, drunken aggressive behavior. BUFC as a club, has worked so hard to regain our once good name in football, lets not go and ruin it !

The B-Ark / What's happened to Jason Alexander ?
« on: November 10, 2015, 07:36:58 PM »
Just seen the team for tonight and yet again no back up keeper on the bench.  Anyone know what's happened to Jason Alexander ?  To me, it always seems a risky proposition to not have a keeper on the bench as during the course of a season its more likely that the number 1 will pick up an injury or be sent off.

The B-Ark / Ryan Robbins
« on: October 01, 2015, 10:46:50 PM »
Ryan Robbins signs for us then from Stamford. Looks a good prospect and seems to have an eye for goal and a bit of a physical presence about him.  I like this signing, although i am sure it won't go down well with the seasonal moaners.  Up the happy clappers !!!! :bunny :bunny

The B-Ark / No keeper on the bench today, risky or not ?
« on: September 12, 2015, 02:24:44 PM »
Looking at the subs bench - SUBS: McGhee, Dowie, Sarpong, Walker & Deacey  its noted that we don't have a keeper on there.

In my eyes this is always risky,  what's others think ?

The B-Ark / The term derby in football
« on: August 28, 2015, 08:00:46 PM »
Like it or not,  tomorrow IS a derby game !  For some of us to dismiss it, or them the opponents as worthy derby opposition comes across as a bit snobbish.

The term derby's definition is as follows - Games between two rivals of close geographical proximity are usually called a local derby, or simply just derby.  A sporting fixture between two teams from the same town, city or region, particularly in association football.

As there are no other league rivals from this County then of course they are the rivals and derby opponents.  Really does baffle my why people still harp on about this when the simple fact remains...that it is such a game.  Its time we put this debate to bed and accept the truth.

The B-Ark / What's the worst repetitive shouts from the crowd ?
« on: August 14, 2015, 11:25:52 PM »
Is there any member of the crowd you hear over all others shouting the same thing all game ?  I've heard the " break their legs ", or " lino, your crap " from the same voices, and more recently " we're going down " but the one that stands out for me is " take your time "  which echo's from the first minute till deep in injury time, lol.  Our fans are amusing !

Anyone got others ?

The B-Ark / No competitive game - what to do ?
« on: January 09, 2015, 07:28:15 PM »
With tomorrow not offering us a competitive game for the Pilgrims,  what are we all doing ?

I've looked at other local fixtures and the one that looks tasty is Spalding Utd vs Sheff FC,  offering the chance to see plenty of former Pilgrims on both sides.
