The B-Ark / Re: JL doing the right things

I don't understand why Jason got rid of Dan Haystead and appointed Bazza just for over a season. Might as well have kept Haystead in the first place as he had age on his side.

Not happy that Ryan Semple has been let go either, one of my favourite players over the last couple of seasons!
As mentioned by Bostonshire he doesn't seem to fit the formation Jason wants to play.

I'll just have to hope that this  coming season year  pre-season trialists are better than the calibre that I saw at Arnold this season Eg Matt Hocking (Pinchbeck United) and Jordan Fairclough (Quorn)

Likewise for me it's between Newsham and Sleath.
Newsham has gone from being often left on the bench early in the season to scoring more than his share of goals in an average team. He works hard off the ball and always gives his best.
Still,  Sleathy edges it for me as he has been a consistently decent performer over the last season and when he doesn't play we seem  to struggle and lose hold of the midfield. With him finishing at Loughborough  Uni I suspect we've seen his last game unfortunately.

Take em to the cleaners Dave.

Job done !       Just rebumped this thread to show how deluded Mr Fenty has been.
Despite the Judge's ruling he still says, "It's only one man's opinion."
Er yes John, that's what happens in court when a Judge makes a ruling.
Right v Wrong and you were wrong.
What a muppet ! When Scott and Hurst walk out on Grimsby for a bigger club
I hope he has better legal advisors !

The OS states that Scott and Hurst were there.

Were they looking at anyone in particular, or just looking and wondering why they left us.

Court case shortly.

According to the Grimsby forum they were looking at a Hinckley player :

Rumours rife on Twitter that Scott and Hurst are looking at Hinckleys Andre Gray. Apparently them. Alan Knill and Gary Brabin were all at there game tonight to watch him.

Thought it was another well deserved victory last night, with the team really trying to play football on the floor with a  passing game that is pleasing to watch . Good team performance , with Ben Fairclough once again causing a defence all sorts of problems.

It was good to see the team carry on the good work from the Nuneaton game in what was a thoroughly deserved win. Chris Mackensie , the Corby keeper had a blinder, saving a swerving Danny Sleath shot , an Ian Ross effort and putting Newsh's shot onto the bar in the second half.  Without him in goal we wouldn't have had to rely on a last minute winner. Both their centre backs and a midfielder were built like brick**** houses, playing long balls would have made life easy for them.(And given the crowd neck ache)  It was good to see our passing football and nimble forward line get the upper hand.
A real positive was how well our front three linked up with the midfield, SWD helps no end in this respect as you rarely see him lose the ball and his passing is accurate.  Ben Fairclough deserved his winner after such an excellent performance. Well done all.

The B-Ark / Re: Eastwood Town

The more I hear about this club the more it sounds like they are doomed barring a miracle saviour.
Kettering  and Eastwood both have had the curse of the millionaire chairman whose got bored after a few years throwing ridiculous  money at a ramped up unrealistic wage bill .
And as for the running costs of Nene Park you may as well hire Wembley from what Rushden fans said.
At the start of the season the Kettering chairman was boasting about signing a player from Real Madrid, now he can't pay any of the staff! :dan
Fit and proper persons test is needed, too many chancers allowed.
This could potentially wreck our Boxing Day income.

Can we get hold of XXXL and Norfolk Townie......we could invite The Pink Panther along as well.......

We could only get XXXL to travel from Hong Kong and attend if someone could persuade Daryl Sutch to turn up. !
When Daryl had to present him with a signed football it was a bit like the scene in Alan Partridge when he had to escape from his biggest fan/ stalker Ged Maxwell. "I'll level with you, I'm genuinely scared !"

Getting a settlement that is 'undisclosed' helps agreement to be reached as neither club has to lose face.

This seems to backed up by the fact that both clubs on their official websites are making out they are satisfied with the conclusion!  It sounds like we've made Grimsby pay more than they wanted to so hasn't been a waste of time from our point of view.
Seeing as Grimsby are on the verge of going out of business (according to their trust ) I hope we get the cheque cashed first thing tomorrow morning !

Slightly disconcerting that one of Blue Square North's best midfielder's is struggling at a mid table side the league above.
Shows how much non league's top division has improved, particularly in regard to fitness and professionalism.
An old FA Cup programme , shows an article (Away at Bloody Runcorn !) November 1986, how things used to be:(Warning, the word tinpot is often used but this is pretty deserving!)

"Vics' Reserve Spectator's"

Last Saturday, Northwich Victoria had only eight fit players to face league leaders Maidstone, at the Drill Field in a Conference match.
Vics had to appeal for three spectators to play and still managed a creditable 1-1 draw.
Surely this unfortunate incident is a bad reflection on the Conference league and must  never happen again.

A name was mentioned to me this morning! But it's not fair to name the person! But if it's true I think he may had an expensive day traveling wise  :o

So reading between the lines he wasn't given a lift home due to his behaviour ?
I hope people like this are spoken to by someone as it's not acceptable. I was behind the goal we were attacking second half so didn't hear this. All supporters were frustrated watching the second half but it makes the afternoon even worse listening to some foul mouthed racist  halfwit berate your own team.
We should start to name and shame and make people think about what they are saying. BTW The ref had a superb game despite what the new Jimmy Hill thought.

« on: November 05, 2011, 06:53:40 PM »
Solihull are starting to become a bogey team. Last season we played well and lost 1-0. Today we didn't play well and lost 1-0. Apart from a Ryan Semple shot that the keeper put onto the post we created very little. The second half was a particularly bad day at the office as we didn't look like scoring, unless by a million to one chance a clearance hit a plane and dropped in the net.
Once again a trip to Solihull results in the highlight being the catering van.
Oh and the ref was OK, and I'm not being sake  :-[
Our performance was like a box of fireworks from Poundland, full of hope and expectation but ultimately a damp squib.
